Personally I’ve seen nothing yet to suggest that Verbruggen is better than Steele.
He looks flappy on corners and poor in distribution.
Or Is it just me?
It's just you. His distribution was better than Steele today. Very calm on the ball.

Also commanded the defence well, dominated his box and had some good claims.

I love Steele but Verbruggen is just an upgrade

He seems to want to always try and save with his feet/legs. Use your hands Bart (see your save from Dunk's deflection first half).
With the way the shots have been against him going with legs is the best option.

If all of the shots weren't placed right in the corner he would have saved them, just got unlucky they were great finishes.

Only negative today - Freed from Desire and ring of fire instead of a sing song to clap the team off at the end. f*** it off.

Stupidly good performance
Yeah so shit, especially when the atmosphere had been so good too. Deserved a proper send off rather than fecking freed from desire that the newc fans still in the ground sung /danced along to too. So so sick of hearing freed from desire at sports events as it is , let alone when the Albion win at home. Anyway minor gripe really after such a good day!

One amusing moment towards the end of the game, no doubt easier to see on the tele than if you were at the game. Did anyone notice Schar's expression when he'd clearly fouled Lamptey who then went on to set up that near miss for Mitoma. He was on a yellow and totally resigned to being sent off. He'd completely failed to notice that Lamptey had saved him by staying on his feet. One for that 2 good 2 bad thing they do on motd2 if they saw it.

and then Lamptey was booked for the only challenge he made, which always seems to happen to the poor lad.

Ask @Husty - he’s the expert on atmosphere from his sofa as doesn’t go to games yet knows everything 🤣

Oh sorry he’s posted but nothing to do with the Albion winning of course 🤣🤦🏻‍♂️
Oh good, I’ve got a fan in NSC’s brightest and best

Agreed. Do we really have to play this one after every win? I don’t mind it after a big result when people really want to party but after every 3 points is getting a bit annoying and cringe

Surely a better option than effin Sweet Caroline at least.

I mostly agree with all the Freed From Desire comments - especially because it drowned out Evan's chant in full flow - but the stands were rocking when it kicked in.

I'd still prefer Fatboy, if anything, though...

They are different players as well really. With different specific strengths and skills.
Both central midfielders though. MacAllister was excellent as part of a double pivot. The impressive aspect of Gilmour yesterday was his ability to play as a single pivot, with Gross and Pedro playing close by, but in more advanced positions.

Different skills and capabilities of the players but you can definitely compare their contributions under De Zerbi’s systems.
