Warning — Another unpopular opinion. I’m afraid I'm not yet totally convinced by Pedro. Yes, he’s elegant in build-up play, dummying and feinting and passing neatly to help push the team forward — no complaints there. But twice in the first part of the second half, he seemed slow to react in the box when he might’ve scored, and several more times he played the wrong pass or appeared indecisive in front of goal. Perhaps his number 9 is off-putting. It makes me think he’s supposed to be a different sort of player from the one he really is.

I thought Pedro was outstanding. Ran box to box all game, defending and if he got the ball in our half, first thought was to spin and run at the Toon end or pass it forward. Turned defence into attack.

For sure he's not the finished article but I can see why he's our record signing and looks to me that once again, the scouting team have got a gem and he's going to be something special.

I think we were as good yesterday as we were bad against Wet Sham. Back to last season's levels. Not sure if it was the change of personnel, the balance, the wake up call of the last result or what. But we went from crap to fecking brilliant in a week.

Yes you can say the opposition set up etc . But attitude wise, we just seemed to be clueless against Wets and absolutely going for it yesterday.

Feel first time that we will definitely be as good, if not better, after losing our WC winner and the most expensive player in PL history.

To a man we are bang up for this 💪
Last week reminded me of our performance against Everton

Everton took every single chance they had against us, while Newcastle fluffed their lines. They could have easily have scored first.

Fine margins.

Personally I’ve seen nothing yet to suggest that Verbruggen is better than Steele.
He looks flappy on corners and poor in distribution.
Or Is it just me?
He's young and will improve.
