Every time we concede a goal you could pin the blame on someone. That’s football, we support Brighton, these players play for us for a reason in the majority because they aren’t world class players and so make more mistakes than Liverpool’s players, at least we’ve made our howlers against 2 top teams and not against Norwich.

We tired at the end there again but we scored again and I am sure Klopp would agree we gave them a game for a while there.

Until Salah scored we were in this game, spirited performance. Just pity about the early mistakes

Remember Ryan was a reserve at Valencia when he was signed - he is 28 years old and has reached his ceiling. He is what he is - a decent goalkeeper who turned out somewhat better than I expected, but could just as easily be playing for a Championship team. Upgrade at goalkeeper would move the team forward - but good goalies are difficult to find and can cost a lot.

We have at least 3 REALLY talented young goalkeepers but you would spend the mortgage on bringing in an expensive unknown over Ryan and all of them. Really...

So now that the hysterical divs have all had their say, anyone else daring to feel that Dale has had a pretty good game?

He was definitely decent. Its not his quality that makes people think he is bad.

He should change his name to Asier Mundobarrieta and get a wig and play the exact same way, and people will say "decent midfielder, at least better than that Stephens fella!"

Does that mean that Webster and Propper should now be dropped for quite a while?

IMO both those players offer and contribute a lot, but at the same time they do make occasional mistakes.

On balance they are not faultless and the best players in the world, but overall they are very good and are a positive reason for why it's likely we will be staying up.

Quite enjoyed that and no disgrace in losing, and was a free hit points wise (even better with Hammers losing too). Frustrating couple of errors, and still need to take our chances better, but overall a decent performance and pretty much matched Liverpool for an hour or so. Cracking goal, Trossard looking more like player we first thought now and Lamptey good enough and quick enough to have his oppo Liverpool wonderkid taken off at HT. Suspect Biss was simply rested rather than anything else.

Were are a decent team

I just hope Potter looks at replays of games realises how many goals Webster at £20m has cost us. Appreciate why he plays him but Duffy does not make as many mistakes and would score more goals

Really enjoyed that. Game played with attitude from both sides. We went for it so much more than on other occasions, including Norwich. Maybe next season, a couple of additions...we could work our way up the table in style....

In the meantime, we are stayin' up, say we are stayin' up. I suspect.

I think that the goalie Ryan needs to have somebody pushing him for his place as he has lost all consistency this year.

Absolutely, I’m not at the “it’s not working out level” but we need someone who actually pushes him.

I think our effective defensive blocks inside the box mask the true ability

Souness is correct. It is very naive the way we began, I hope GP learns from the last few games v Liverpool and United

How did Trossard do?
