Played Connolly when he was only 19 instead of loaning him out, and in hindsight the direct promotion from U23 to first team seems to have done his career more harm than good.

Fair point. Despite his two goal debut, that probably would have been the better thing to do. In fairness though, some of us, without hindsight, were calling for him to have a lower league loan to recapture his PL2 goalscoring mojo every window since then!
Quite possibly loans for the likes of Ferguson and Tolaj are being considered for next season anyway - no reason to disrupt those carefully laid plans, even if they do knock in a few PL goals this season; it'll just increase their profile, improve the quality of their loan moves, and if successful will bring them back to us as £20M players (or better, if we've really hit the Ben White jack-pot again).

Back home, warming back up.

Fireworks, how sad.
Trossard, anyone wanting to question his attitude, make an appointment to see me. He put in a double shift today.
With Coochie and Lamps we have real dangermen out wide. If they keep creating, sooner or later one of our players will miss kick into the goal.

I sort of enjoyed the dominance but really needed a goal to cheer from all that.

The fireworks were in support of rainbow laces weekend, they were rainbow coloured.

Several Leeds fans on the BBC HYS are admitting we totally outplayed them:

'We (leeds) very very very lucky today. Brighton absolutely destroyed us in every department.'

'Leeds got battered tonight hardest point they will earn all season Brighton fans must be gutted most one sided match of the season so far .'

'leeds just couldn't get going but remember, Brighton are a really decent side.
i'll take a draw away to a good Brighton side.'

'Well i thought that today showed us the reality of where Leeds are .This season is going to be a struggle and unless they can buy and strenghen their squad in January , then i think that relegation is a strong possibility .Brighton were streets ahead in every department and i will never know how a well paid player can miss so many guilt edge chances . Poor by both teams'.

So many empty seats tonight. It really can't be just because of covid, especially with other grounds looking pretty full. Incredible amount of season ticket holders not turning up this season so far

I think that’s how most Brighton fans saw it - other than the idiots who booed. Other teams, given the same chances, would have won by four or five today - which must be really worrying for Leeds and tells us what we already know about the lack of a goal scorer.

Covid. Late KOs. Games on TV. Hard-to-share season tickets. And, somewhere on the list (maybe): a lack of wins.

Just had a message from a Leeds STH pal basically saying all of the above, mostly the first quote.

What I want today is some excitement. Something to get the fans cheering. Players shooting whenever they have an opportunity. Attack, attack, attack. Playing the ball out from the back, not across the back ... Sanchez to Dunk, Dunk to Duffy, Duffy to Sanchez, and on and on and on ... that does my head in and achieves absolutely nothing. In spite of our league position I've not really enjoyed the last few games. I go to the Amex to be entertained and the entertainment index has not been very high recently.

Well at least I enjoyed the game this time .... apart from the result. We certainly did much more attacking and had more shots. If only our players knew where the goal was! A lot less aimless passing sideways across the back, but there was a glaring example in added on time at the end when the ball should clearly have been moved quickly upfield .... but no, we decided on some sideways passing between defenders.was preferable!!

There were 1300 tickets available before KO so if people were able to pass ticket on they would not have been denying members of a ticket and would not have been so many empty seats
