Yes, we missed a hatful, but we made the chances to miss them.

Yes, it feels like a defeat, but it isn't. It's a clean sheet, and we're 8th in the table.
Yes and only 5 points off the top 4.
Of course we wanted to win today but we are still there with the chasing pack despite not winning in the last 8.
The quality is there to see its just a matter of time. UTA

Swansman and others have explained to me at length that we clearly don't need another striker. I used to think we did, and games like today make me doubt myself, then I remember such wise, unbiased counsel and I continue to put my faith in Maupay, Connolly and Locadia. With a whopping 30 goals between them in a mere 160 PL games, all the signs are they'll come good any moment now. A goal every 5.33 games from our three strikers combined is absolutely phenomenal stuff.

The usual story, we have a Prem standard goalkeeper and defence, Prem standard midfield and a Championship standard attack. Potter can't be expected to work miracles, taking off Maupay and bringing on Locadia says it all and sent a strong message to the board, over to them, no more excuses.

No surprise that the team got booed off at the end, another toothless showing. Should've been 4 or 5 up but instead we have Maupay and Locadia to rely on.
Everyone else was quality, Cucurella was motm for me, Lamptey a close second. Webster was good going forward, Trossard was brilliant, just that final third again.
We absolutely must sign a decent striker otherwise it will be history repeating year after year.

I think some people must have watched a different game to me... the football was pretty good at times , created lots of chances had the two best players by a country mile (Trossard & Lamptey).

Sure we didn't score so totally understand the frustration but we looked pretty good. As for Maupay , one sitter missed not sure the second was a sitter but agree a top striker should have scored but MANY PL strikers would have missed.

I think today means that we need to get one of the U23 strikers in either Tolaj or Ferguson.

Subs were a bit strange as I though Maupay was contributing a lot more just before he went off.

I would have kept Lamptey on because as soon as he went off Leeds got back in.

March did alright but maybe he should have come on instead of Maupay with license to shoot on sight.

Sarmiento should have been on earlier

It's clear enough that Lamptey's return is being very carefully managed in terms of game time. That's exactly the right thing to do. I'd rather have 75 absolute class minutes out of him and bring on a quality replacement in March than keep Lamptey on for the full 90 minutes in desperation if he's not ready.

Time to find a striker and get rid of Maupay. He is just not good enough. In our first 2 seasons in the Prem Murray scored 14 and 15 goals. I'm sure we created less chances than we do now under Potter.

we definitely need to give sarmiento and/or another u23 a chance but they will still need service. Biss needs a rest im afraid , more mistakes again today, nothing like the player he was. And for gods sake someone tell Potter to drop Gross - he was great for us under Houghton but is just not up to the job any more.

And yet when he went off we looked totally flat  Maupay, for all his faults, still makes us look like a better team IMO. I’m not saying we don’t need a new striker but Maupay needs a strike partner if we want to get the best out of him.

I’m in a positive place, in a week where I could easily have been killed in a car crash and last nights hurricane in Alnwick - well, let’s just say it lends a certain perspective to proceedings.

Sure we didn’t score, but equally they were very, very lucky - just like I was when I walked away from a car wreck on Monday. That’s what life is all about - luck, and tonight they had it in abundance.

For me, I asked for a more positive approach, more zip, verve, effort and (for the most part) I got it. Lest we forget, Leeds are world beating giants and we’re not fit to lace their boots.

Yet we did, whilst cunningly tying their shoelaces together and danced round their lumbering ‘ballers akin to a bunch of Morris dancers twirling about a maypole.

Now, where’s the beer tent ?
