Sky pundits blaming our goal on Arrizabalaga. We're going down.

In these post lost match threads, some (not you) get very sensitive about anyone criticising performances and unforced mistakes. Apparently real supporters don’t do that.

But it’s always been the way, even pre-internet, supporters let off steam, job done.

Its what football's all about, isn't it? Always has been, always will be.

It's not bloody lawn bowls

Alzate has taken over Propper's role, picking up the short pass from Ryan and laying it off to the opposition.

Thought that was Stephens' role? But whatever, no he hasn't. Excellent young player - will make mistakes (and learn from them) but I'm still happy to have him as part of our new, younger, faster PL team.

Agree with this so much. Stats don’t tell the true story. They scored at the right time so hardly had to move out of what? Second gear? Third at best.

I don't know what telling the true story entails, but do you seriously believe that Chelsea were so confident they were playing at what, 20-40%?

Sky still haven't mentioned Brighton post match. God they are rubbish analysts.

Don’t put yourself through it.

Sky are the very worst in their love and hyperbole for Abramovich and Mansour’s play things. All very deliberate .... sponsors and plastics across the planet have zero interest in the Albion, but a whole load of interest in 7 or 8 high spending PL clubs.

It will never change.

That might be true, but it's utterly irrelevant. Who knows what they might have done. What they actually did was score from two shots that were not great chances. That is what fantastic finishers do - so when you are up against the best, they can consistently outperform the average. Reece James doesn't score many goals, so I suspect his was a heavy does of luck. And the third goal was being saved easily before the deflection - so that is lucky for them as well.

The penalty was entirely fair, he was going for that and it was not luck (and it was not cheap - it's a legit tactic).

Dunk's chance is scored four out of ten times, on average. You might not believe in statistics but surely you agree that was the best chance anyone had apart from the pen.

Im sorry but it’s simply not irrelevant that we didn’t create enough chances and conceded sloppy goals, it’s why we lost fairly easily in the end. It’s like the old stats/mini skirt comparison, what they show is suggestive but what they hide is vital

I don't understand anyone being negative about our performance tonight. Last year we had some truly dire performances but this was like chalk and cheese. We will be comfortably mid-table if we continue like that.

I don't think anyone is, a silly mistake cost us dear, bad luck in the case of Webster OG. We all knew we lacked cutting edge in the final third. We do.

The frustration is there are no style or possession points. We lost end of........ when we could and should of got at least a point.

Points are all that ultimately counts.

You sir, are crazy

It has been said.

On the other hand, it has been a long dark teatime of the soul since we thrived on hoofing it to Irvine, Dawson, Binny, Ward, er.......Zamora, Murray....

My guess is G-Pott has about as much interested in a trad number 9 as I have in trad jazz, magazine jazz, Tales of Topographical Oceans, mullets, curtains, or Gangnam Style.

If you have identified the new Messi, however, feel free to txt Barber (and mail a postal order for twelfty millions).

I’m not saying that. I’m saying if you get a) an early pen and b) a goal seconds after the opposition equalise, you don’t have to take many risks. They did exactly what they needed to do. And mostly we helped them in that.

I'm trying to point out that we created more chances than Chelsea - whether they could have done more if they'd bothered to try is what I'm saying is irrelevant, we can never know that.

Penalty aside, Dunk's chance was the best in the game, followed by the Maupay and Connolly chances. The chances were there - we just didn't have someone clinical enough to finish them.

Alzate mistake, WORLDY from James and a deflected goal (from Webster again). 3-1 utterly flattered Chelsea but like Leeds we are just another plucky loser. Bollocks.

I don't think you played like Leeds, and Chelsea certainly didn't play like Liverpool.

Unless they improve massively on tonight's performance I will be astounded if they win the title for all the megabucks spent. They were there for the taking.

Absolutely agree. Have already said it but they won’t play worse than that. Absolutely no energy or rhythm.
We played wellish but really didn’t do enough.
