I don't think you played like Leeds, and Chelsea certainly didn't play like Liverpool.

Unless they improve massively on tonight's performance I will be astounded if they win the title for all the megabucks spent. They were there for the taking.

Chelsea no more 'there for the taking' than Liverpool though with how poor Liverpool were at the back.

Chelsea didn't play well partly because we were playing very well.

We both lost though, in the end.

Sky still haven't mentioned Brighton post match. God they are rubbish analysts.

What do you think about Tariq Lamptey?

They start talking about Loftus-Cheek.

Brighton factually.....
I do wonder, what it would have been like with the crowd there, some moments in the game where the crowd could influence or affect players decision making, I definitely think over a more prolonged period, having no crowds will affect smaller teams more.

Ah it is what it is.

Liverpool’s defence was shocking, as it has been since February. Watford, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea at Anfield, ManC walking through it at will.

Leeds spent a couple of months preparing for the one game, Bielsa knew about that awful defending (every manager worth his salt would have), every player covered huge distances in getting in the opposition faces. You did not play a team in form far from it.

It will be interesting to see if Solly can keep up this sort of performance with a couple of thousand people groaning at everything he does :moo:

Agree with this so much. Stats don’t tell the true story. They scored at the right time so hardly had to move out of what? Second gear? Third at best.

This.

Stats said Locadia and AJ were worth a combined 30 million quid and 100k pw.

Liverpool absolutely strolled past us and hadn’t won in yonks. Be fair- Leeds were great value this weekend.

This. Norwich ran a slow out of the blocks Liverpool very close at Anfield, on match day one. We all know how that ended.

I'm trying to point out that we created more chances than Chelsea - whether they could have done more if they'd bothered to try is what I'm saying is irrelevant, we can never know that.

Penalty aside, Dunk's chance was the best in the game, followed by the Maupay and Connolly chances. The chances were there - we just didn't have someone clinical enough to finish them.

And I prefer Potter’s commonsense approach. He’s not hiding behind James’s low grade chance being converted, he’s looking at why we allowed him to be in a shooting position so easily. I’m afraid we’ll only improve if that’s the approach we take

I said to my boy, we may have lost but we can now see the new Brighton. Ball players from the back (note Dunk rarely the instigator) quick midfield (yes mistake.... goal), much more progressive so much more a top side idea. Could go wrong but tonight in the main equal to Chelsea in mindset.

Progressive as far as i'm concerned

Ah it is what it is.

Crowd would have been on Solly's back from the off. Then Alzate's. Short burst of GOSBTS after the equalizer, then pretty quiet with a low murmer of grumbling. I would have left on 85 minutes.

I thought it was a decent performance. You have to remember. That Chelsea squad is. Multi Million assemblance of superb players.

All that said. Chelsea made a lot of mistakes and gave the ball away a lot in decent positions. There was no cutting edge on the counter attack and you have to say. That's down to the fact the forwards were outclassed by Chelsea defence. Zouma was absolutely immense at the back for Chelsea.

I think everyone is too keen for Connolly to be a success. Sadly this level of football is beyond him.

The team will have better days against other side's with defenders not as good as Chelsea have got

How come the Mods still allow you as a trolling CP to appear hear?

After gifting Liverpool early goals, Lamptey and co tore Liverpool apart for the best part of an hour. Our old nemesis of lack of finishing cost the Albion.

On the night NSC was in heaven.

Albion tiring late on, Liverpool brought on the cavalry and sealed the game.

NSC’ers - is my synopsis of Liverpool’s last visit to the Amex fair or bollocks?
