Feels a bit predictable doesn’t it. Caught out playing from the back, Lallana off injured, Lamptey our best player and fluffing our lines up top.

Chelsea are in second gear .... If they up it they will be 2 or 3-0 up in no time.

Same old same old for the goal but we looked organised and played some really good football without ever looking particularly threatening. Lamptey and Alzate (error apart) look good. White showing promise. March good right up to the box. Only disappointment is we can’t seem to get Maupay in the game and his one half chance he fluffed. Small margins.

Unlucky with the goal, look to get sussed out towards the end.

Gutted for Lallana and pleased with Lamptey attacking threat so far, coulf be pushed to RM/W soon the intent he's showing!

... and the NSC spotlight moves away from Webster and our new target is Llalana.

Good news
Bissouma best player on the pitch.
Lampty very close in second place.
Trossard looking as good as any Chelsea player behind them.
We've had more of the ball and more shots than them.
White looks to have slotted in well.
Molumby can come in if the mistake is going to affect Alzate.

Bad
We still need a striker it's our biggest weakness. Don't get enough chances per game in Prem to waste those.
March for the first 35 minutes was a 2 out of 10. Can only assume he's been told to go backwards 19 out of 20 times as a part of the system. Usually quite like him.
Again a penalty from a mistake costing us. Not either or but a double negative leads to the only goal. You get the sense other Prem teams would suffer the mistake and it not lead to a goal from that position.

Conclusion
Stick Vardy and Chillwell in our side and we'd be where Leicester or Wolves are. 2 positions away, everyone knows the glaring weaknesses but we've so far replaced Mooy with like (if he stays fit and on more money) in Lallana and replaced our back up right back with another back up who's a bit more versatile. We have a really good team but need to score goals when doing everything else well.
(Not saying we could sign those players, and don't need to for top 10-12. They'd make us borderline top 6. What we need for 10-12 is to try and find Bissouma/Webster/Lampty/Trossard level players for the two obvious positions).

Great first half. Keep the same level of play against weaker sides and relegation will be a non-issue this season.

Exactly the same as last year then!
Should do a poll on number of points given away by blind square passes around our 18 yard box this year
Will be at least 8

And a poll about how many points not given away by giving away possession for free every time the keeper got the ball.

An excellent half from us marred by a stupid gifted goal and Lallana's injury.

Not the universal opinion I know, but I'm not blaming Alzate for the goal. Sure, it was a naive mistake. However, that goal all stemmed from a throw-in we had NEAR CHELSEA's CORNER FLAG, after our most dangerous attack of the game. We threw it 20 yards backwards, 5 seconds later it's with Maty and 5 seconds further it's a penalty. Why on earth throw it towards the halfway line when we're in such an attacking position?

Different player. Same mistake. He’s been watching Propper too much!

Still, our mega summer signing lasted 43 minutes into his 3 year contract. Heard his agent is some bloke called Paul Kitson...
