Because he missed a handball. Without VAR we’d have got lucky. With it, we didn’t.
My understanding. heaven forbid, is that VAR should intervene on a clear and obvious onfield error ? In this instance the ref didn't give/see the alledged hand ball but gave a corner. How can VAR decide on something the ref hasn't seen ?

Eh? I don't like var but I'm not sure you understand the purpose of var and how it works...

To be fair to them we played like that when we down the bottom under CH that game at wolves were we drew 0-0 was like Everton today if they were not near the bottom they would play better a better style under moyes they will be top 10 next season

Brighton factually.....
Opinions can still be an overreaction?
I was deflated too, still annoyed now, but FH has been in the job half a season, we're 9th and had some very good results amongst some shitty ones. There's no need to throw all the toys out of the pram about him just yet ffs
I can, if I wish

i pay my money, I invest my time and heart, I’m allowed that.
Is this America?

Agreed. They’ve done what they need to do to come away with the points, but I wouldn’t rush to renew my season ticket after a season of that.

To be fair, they don’t play against every team exactly like that, but they knew what they needed to do today, and did it. They were very well drilled and left no space.

I (very reluctantly) have to applaud a defensive masterclass.

Were they really well drilled?

They didn’t leave their third of the pitch for 99.99% of the match. It’s really not hard to defend like that.

They basically played like a L2 side coming up against a Premier League side, and were expected to applaud them for that?

You can, but it makes you a bit of a tit, imo
Really, ok

fair play, maybe an over reaction, I am fed up though with this same old, same old
football has changed, especially the Premier League, margins are tight, anyone can beat anyone.

Its so frustrating, we turn up for the big teams, and when we play Southampton, Leicester etc, they play the same, yet we fail to deliver.

This is the golden time in our history, I know that, yet it seems we’re throwing it away.

I get where you're coming from. Having said that, we are in the mix in the PL.

This season we have beaten Man City, Man Utd and drawn with Arsenal. (We've had some other food results, but I'll lose my draft if I go googling!)

Yes we've had some frustrating results too but it really feels for the time being like we are an established PL side.

The team have gone through MASSIVE turmoil and change over the past 3 to 4 seasons and we are still holding our own.

Tony isn't going anywhere. He is constantly looking to improve. Life is bumpy, football is unpredictable and the ride will have it's ups and downs but where we are at the moment is pretty damn good.

Edit: and before it's thrown at me, I'm not a "licker", just a glass half full view of life.

Yes.

They were nothing like a L2 side, L2 sides can be pulled out of position and goaded into silly fouls. The fact that they didn’t leave their third of the pitch shows that they knew how and why we could cause problems for them, and were determined not to give us the space to allow us to hurt them.

They did a really professional job on us. I don’t like us getting beat, but credit where it’s due. They knew what would be effective, and carried the plan out flawlessly. We were piss poor in the first half, but were significantly better in the second and still couldn’t find a way through. You don’t have to applaud them for it, boo if it makes you feel better, I can’t see Everton fans shedding any tears.

As the cock behind me at old trafford last week said after they were awarded the penalty and I confronted him for repeatedly calling Verbruggen a c*** , Ayari a c*** and every other Brighton player a c*** preceding the penalty for every mistake made.

F*** me, I'm thankful I don't live my life through the lense some on here do.
