I'm absolutely scunnered watching that. First half was utterly appaling. FH needs to get a grip. Promptly.

Desperately need Veltman and Kadioğlu back. Lamptey can't defend and Estupiñián has looked off his game for a while.

Desperately need to reinforce at CB. Igor needs to come back in for Wet Sham.

Enciso deserves more game time.

That was gash.

Gutted. Should have been 6-0. Dreadful tactics. Absolutely no patterns of play. High risk, low reward shit.
No patterns of play. Completely agree.
We have just fallen apart in that respect and that is down to the coach. His ‘no midfield’ tactic has got found out.
Thankfully we’ll have Veltman and Jack Hinshelwood back soon, but even so it’s worrying to see the lack of recognisable patterns that we have been able to clearly see in recent seasons.

Genuinely, I go with Bloom's view (as he sees all the data and qualitative stuff), I doubt he'd change now. Presumably a FH project?

We had the makings of an outstanding PL team. But there's no pragmatism in defence and situations from FH. Unless you have the firepower of the top 3, wins are often built on clean-sheets.
Bloom will give Fab till the end of the season, at least. Up to him to get it sorted by then. We were hitting a lot of long 50-50 balls out to the wide players today. I'm not sure that's going to get the thumbs up.

Welbeck was a big miss last 2 games.

Disappointing but expected in our recent run. 2 points from the incredibly poor Southampton side, Fulham, a poor Leicester and Palace at home.

Obviously missing Veltman. Unfortunate his absence is coinciding with 3 other RB options also being injured. Dunk is struggling, and he needs Veltman to help tactically on the pitch. Van Hecke was also poor today, dreadful passing.

We know Pervis can offer so much, but relying on him defensively with the weakened back line will never work.

Pedro needs Welbeck to thrive, Ferguson isn’t helping fill that gap. Credit to Hurztler for spotting the issues. Yet to find any solutions. I’m not sure where he can go when Veltman, the better back up defenders and Welbeck are all lit together.

Rivals and all but they’ve been very decent. Solid at the back, bossed us in the middle with Will Hughes playing ffs. And clinical up front. Far far from the worst team to come here this season, they’ve done a number on us whether we like it or not
Bossed us in midfield as we choose not to bother with one. The brilliant baleba doing everything on his own while everyone's apparebt darling Ayari gets to waft about playing some passes with no responsibility and no way of recovering when the 100th move breaks down whenever he has to try and hold the ball under physical pressure.

Another really poor performance…

Lots of fingers being pointed today and players won’t always play well but imho, our squad is far, far better than it is showing and that is sadly not down to them. The way we are playing doesn’t allow any space for error at the back and our quick and skilful players aren’t given a chance to turn and run at the defenders as it’s too crowded and they are already too high up the pitch.
FH should be given time of course but for me, the poor performances are on him.

He was certainly very good at continuing the work of Potter and getting the most out of the team.
Yes, that's just what he did - continue the good work. He took over a team that was heading for a European spot, and would likely have got there anyway had Potter stayed.
With a hugely inferior squad on 2022/23 and after 8 more games.
Yes, obviously; We lost Caicedo and Mac Allister. As the season went on though, we didn't progress; we got worse, not better.

We also really missed Jack Hinshelwood today. His dynamism and tenacity was sorely missed.
Fabian needs to understand that you can’t play 4/1/5 in this division. We need someone alongside Baleba to support him and have a proper midfield to assist the defence, out of possession.
