No I don’t think we missed Stephens at all today. We are equally weak and predictable when he’s in the team as we were last spring. I also thought Bissouma was excellent today.

Like you though, I’m absolutely mystified why Alzate doesn’t play (unless he’s not fit). Starting Mooy ahead of him was a very strange call for me today.

Bissouma had a roving roll, played well from 15 minutes in, for an hour.

Alzate - totally agree, my POTS, love him, he has everything. Why did Mooy and Trossard start ahead of him. Not hindsight, I posted this pre match. An astonishing decision by Potter.

We are down. Unfortunate, but the slide has been happening for months now. You consistently miss the big chances created and let in sloppy goals then you’ve got no chance.

We concede too many goals.

I know other teams have conceded more, but that's 17 games since our last clean sheet!

17 games!

It's all well and good saying that we don't score enough, but when you need to score 2 to get a win, it's even harder.

We are defensively very naive

We conceded one......but failed to even look like scoring with 20-odd shots and 66% possession. Defence is not our primary problem.

A certainty? No.

But definitely becoming a dangerous possibility. Baffling decisions re: MacAllister and Lamptey - if they weren't going to be involved in the 18 man squad today (and that in itself is baffling) why the hell didn't they have a run out with the U23s at Derby yesterday. Would have made a lot more sense than playing Kayal anyway!

Have to agree. Could see no rationale for playing Crofts and Kayal. What message does that give to Richards, who sat on the bench?

We probably have more shots on target without scoring than anyone and how the hell did March not score that sitter. Can't buy a goal right now.

March’s was from an angle with a defender and goalie to beat.

Maupay was clean through dead centre and passed to the goalie. Missed other chances and half chance too.

I think on paper today's midfield is probably our best. Most teams seem to realise that if they close down Mooy, they stifle our creativity. That should create space elsewhere but our lack of movement in the final third means we cannot capitalise. God it's depressing

Well yes, exactly. Baffling.

I wonder if it is something to do with the number of loan players as the rules change next year. Maybe it will be seeing close up what he is like now and then either retain as first team or sell.

I beg to differ...

If we have to score 2 to stand a chance of winning, draws are our most likely best result.

We have scored more goals than Palace this season.. they are 8 points clear of us and safe as houses

If he spends half a season with us without playing, or not playing much, his sale value as a Brighton reject will be a hell of a lot less than if he finishes the season as a star player for one of the top teams in South America!

For me (and possibly I see it wrong?) MacAllister, Lamptey and Alzate have potentially more to lose if we go down (in terms of a stalling to their hoped for premier careers) than the guys who have been with us for a few years (yep, I know there's another way of looking at this). So I'm with you ... play 'em.

No, our strikers today have been shit in front of goal - I never denied that; but Knocky, Andone and Locadia wouldn't have made things any better.

Well that’s your opinion fair enough but trossard March a 37 year old striker and Connolly who don’t even get on anymore they’re not either

Kind of numb to the Hammers and B’muff leads because it only matters if we are capable of winning a few games and we haven’t looked like doing so for a long while now

You might have a point wiht some of them, but can't agree with the March one.

Think March is one of our most underrated players. A match winner on his day. Yes he lacks consistency just like a lot of the team, but it's more like 1 in 5 he has a great game, wins points on his own.

Let's hope he has one of those days today.

March was good - crazy taking him off!
Trossard never in the game and end up hiding from the ball - why was he not taken off?
Montoya did get booked but actually did well.
Webster had a decent game
