Didn't play badly today but we were made to look better by an awful palace side, who still ended up beating us.
I'm now fully convinced we're going down.

6 PL transfer windows, £200m spent and NO:

1. Quality CF
2. RB who can defend for 90 minutes.
3. A lack of power in all midfield positions other than stalwart DS.
3. A plethora of wingers who seem more off form than in form when it comes to assists/goals.
5. A complete dearth of goals from Propper and all other ACM’s. Gross was quality season 1, but seems to have lost all form.

The recruitment problems predate Ashworth.

Indeed, plus the complete absence of anything from Cat 1 facilities.

We concede too many goals.

I know other teams have conceded more, but that's 17 games since our last clean sheet!

17 games!

It's all well and good saying that we don't score enough, but when you need to score 2 to get a win, it's even harder.

We are defensively very naive

Brighton factually.....
Utterly disappointed with that result, lacklustre and rather pedestrian until the last 5 minutes.
I’m beginning to doubt Potter and relegation seems a certainty.

We’ve only one 4 times this season at Amex!

No more than 3 points in us for the rest of the season.

Just thinking about that, that's 4 home wins (including a couple of home cup games thrown in for good measure) over 30 weeks of the season - or in other words 1 win at home every 7 and half weeks. God now I really am depressed. Night in the pub methinks.

Ryan should have done better with the goal conceded. Ayew (the Palace goal scorer) didn't look confident and the shot was straight at him .

Two players that don't have a minute of Premier League experience between them?

Edit: Lamptey played a game, but it's still a stretch to think these 2 youngsters will save our season.

Well we won't know if they'll be able to contribute to saving our season if they aren't in the squad.

Agree - not sure what all the 'love in' has been for Matty this season. Very few clean sheets, certainly could have done better over the goal today, and he rarely ever dominates the box. He might be a lovely guy and give countless shirts away to fans but I think he is one of many weak links we have.

We were better than them but we lost which means we were worse than them.

Replying in good faith, can you see why I like Stephens in the team? Power, muscle, positional discipline, bite.

To play all the weak, short midfielders and strikers at once, has its disadvantages. So often brushed of the ball by better athletes.

No I don’t think we missed Stephens at all today. We are equally weak and predictable when he’s in the team as we were last spring. I also thought Bissouma was excellent today.

Like you though, I’m absolutely mystified why Alzate doesn’t play (unless he’s not fit). Starting Mooy ahead of him was a very strange call for me today.

A certainty? No.

But definitely becoming a dangerous possibility. Baffling decisions re: MacAllister and Lamptey - if they weren't going to be involved in the 18 man squad today (and that in itself is baffling) why the hell didn't they have a run out with the U23s at Derby yesterday. Would have made a lot more sense than playing Kayal anyway!

If McAllister isn't ready for (at least) the bench in one of our last winnable home games. .. Why the **** did we pay to cancel his loan agreement?

We probably have more shots on target without scoring than anyone and how the hell did March not score that sitter. Can't buy a goal right now.
