I haven't enjoyed a game like that for a while.

Just brilliant, should have won it.

The future is so bright for us.

The atmosphere sounded great to . . I wish i was there.

Thought we were superb tonight, especially the (entire) defence.

There were points last season where I didn’t feel Dan Burn was up to being our back up centre back but he’s been great of late.

Mac Allister and Moder are really benefitting from regular minutes now, and again I was concerned by a CM of Alzate and Gross but felt they were decent.

Now given that we regularly compete with the top sides can we PLEASE start putting some the Prem’s dregs away 2 or 3-0?

Well, the league's bottom 4 are all coming up in the next 7 or 8 games, so we shall see...

For me, what stands out is the performances of the lesser-sung members of the squad. If Lewis Dunk had played as well as Dan Burn tonight, we'd be demanding an England call-up. If Adam Lallana had played like Steven Alzate tonight, connecting play all over the place, we'd be marveling at his performance. If it had been Yves Bissouma being all over the place instead of Alexis MacAlister, we'd be praising him as one of the best midfielders in the league.

Which makes one wonder, how much are these performances the player themselves, and how much is it the system and tactics allowing them to perform so well.

Big Dan burn will get no where near the England set up but he has really had excellent games against arguably the best CF in the world.

Webster will get nowhere near the England set up even though he has demonstrated fantastic defensive and attacking attributes he is a proper modern defender who is streets ahead of Kean & Mings.

Mac is showing what we all thought was there - I think we get subliminally fooled by the Scottish name , he an Argentinian who has designs on his country's number 10 shirt and a world cup at the end of teh year .

Really pleased for Alzate, thought he had lost it but excellent game tonight.

Yup. If Lewis Dunk can’t get a sniff, what chance have Webster or Burn got?!

Graham Potter:

"We're really pleased and proud of the performance definitely. We gave Chelsea a good game. Our performance was full of everything. It's not easy because they have some top players but the courage of our defenders... The boys played on the front foot as much as they could. They scored from not much but it was a performance I really enjoyed.

We were well in the game and the boys could feel it was a good performance. Chelsea don't give much away so you have to work for everything. We could maybe test the goalkeeper more but I thought we had everything.

Adam Webster and Dan Burn were fantastic. We looked like we were enjoying our football which is important. The players give it everything and when they make a mistake they work hard and recover for each other. As a coach that's all you can ask for.

You could see the reaction from the supporters. They paid good money and enjoyed the performance."

Southgate is Palace through and through. Webster, Burn and Dunk have no chance of an England call up

Southgate knew White was on his way to Arsenal when he picked him for England

Squad cost - only Mancs x 2, Real and PSG have spent more.

Humourless Tuchel has riches beyond the dreams of almost every coach in the game.

I'm beginning to wonder if he has some sort of agenda with us. It's odd.

Since our last game against them, I've made a point of watching his post match interviews on MotD (a bit sad, I know, but hey ho). Whilst none of them exactly cover him in glory, equally, none of them have been as bitter as the two he's done after our games.

See the snide comment about our fans applauding a draw for example. He knows full well they were applauding yet another brilliant team performance, not the result. We don't fear the likes of those teams anymore. Fact!

So I wonder what his agenda could be? It's all a bit weird.

That will come.

If you take the view, as I do, that we are a work in progress, improving - and learning - all the time, coupled with the fact that we are creating so, so many chances, against top opposition, then it absolutely - will - happen. It's the next piece of the jigsaw.

We know Tony Bloom's current five year plan - a top ten finish. Eminently achievable I feel.

What I want to know is what his next five year plan is.......

Exactly, he had the look of the P45 about him.

We've been desperate for about 3 seasons for that elusive new striker for something south of 30 million, and they just go straight out and spunk 100 million on Lukaku... who should be fresh as he hasnt played that much.

lower league Dan Burn had him in hs pocket!

Chelsea entitle-istas not hugley pleased, but did quite enjoy this -

"I don't know why so many people are surprised. Brighton came to our place 3 weeks ago and had more shots, corners and possession than Liverpool did. Probably should have gone home with more than a point.
They way some are talking them down you'd think they were as sh*te as Tottenham.
"

:)

I thought, "Kante looks like a poor man's Bissouma" was rather pleasing too!
