Easily the better team and performance, made Chelsea look like Championship fodder (albeit with a couple of good players), not champions of Europe :lolol:

Well played Potter and the entire team :albion2:

One or two people on here expressed reservations about our midfield, with one prediction 4-0 to Chelsea.

It didn't happen quite like that, did it?

When we get our passing game going, we are difficult to break down. All we need is to put in it the back of the net. Piece of cake.

It was me that predicted the 0-4, but then you never really know how a game is going to go.
I feared even more when I saw Größ and alzate were playing, but both were magnificent, as was everyone else. Fantastic game and it could've easily been 3 or 4 to us.
Off home for a little slice of humble pie, and something for my sore throat. Great game.

Credit to Shearer now. Calling Tuchel out on this tired nonsense and the money they have in the squad.

Saying it exactly how it is. Wrighty now backing Shearer up too.

Tuchel's been found out. His players aren't happy and they're not performing for him. No surprise really, if post match interviews are anything to go by. The bloke seems like a complete and utter cockwomble!

Graham Potter:

"I thought it was a good game. Both teams contested it, played with courage, quality and personality.

I'm so proud of the players. It was a fantastic performance. All I can say is thank you to the players. They gave themselves a chance to win, but it wasn't to be. The supporters appreciated the way they played. We take the point and move forward.

They were brilliant and have been all season. Great atmosphere. The fans appreciated the game. We didn't sit back, we had to be positive. Chelsea are a fantastic side. We were up against it but I'm happy with what we have done.

We have a nice squad, good togetherness and we are happy. The back four was sensational. They defended with great courage. It's an art to defend the way they have done."

On Adam Webster's goal:

"Adam is dangerous in those situations. He attacks the ball well. It was nice for him to get some game time. When he is playing with confidence he is a fantastic player."

Tuchel demonstrating, once again, a complete lack of class.

Compare his petulant drivel to Potters self effacing charm!

Chelsea entitle-istas not hugley pleased, but did quite enjoy this -

"I don't know why so many people are surprised. Brighton came to our place 3 weeks ago and had more shots, corners and possession than Liverpool did. Probably should have gone home with more than a point.
They way some are talking them down you'd think they were as sh*te as Tottenham.
"

For me, what stands out is the performances of the lesser-sung members of the squad. If Lewis Dunk had played as well as Dan Burn tonight, we'd be demanding an England call-up. If Adam Lallana had played like Steven Alzate tonight, connecting play all over the place, we'd be marveling at his performance. If it had been Yves Bissouma making us tick tonight instead of Alexis MacAlister, we'd be praising him as one of the best midfielders in the league.

Which makes one wonder, how much are these performances the player themselves, and how much is it the system and tactics allowing them to perform so well.

I'm sure it will happen, but for now, stop being so fecking miserable and appreciate just how good we are. :)

See 437. We played brilliantly tonight, I’ve waited 40+ years to beat Chelsea. Another year is immaterial!

That run he went on from just inside their half, straight into the 6 yard box

Just pure power. The champions of Europe couldn't get near him, he just left them sprawling in his wake as he motored on. Fantastic stuff.

Burn and Webster are good on the ball, unusual for very tall players.

I love that when a CB surprises the opposition and just keeps going.

If Southgate can get over his Mings (hopeless with the ball to feet) man-crush, Webster would be on the fringe of England caps.

I've been in a bit of shock recently, simply just stunned by the levels we've been hitting over the past few weeks... stunned. It's like watching a team full of joy, like a kids team, expressing themselves with carefree abandon yet married to the discipline of a great Italian side of yore.

Wow.

To breed or engender that throughout virtually the entire squad, is quite frankly astounding.

I've never been this proud, it's a beautiful thing to watch us tbh ... win, lose or draw.

Superbly put

Completely agree.
