Graham Potter, speaking to BBC Sport:

"It has been a long time [since our last win] and we had to answer those statistics. You need to win and today it was important to get those three points.

We started a little slow which you can understand when we've been on the run we have but as the first half went on we settled into the game. Delighted with the three points.

Second half we had to use our goalkeeper, who made some fantastic saves, and a little bit of luck sees us a clean sheet which are important in the Premier League.

No-one gives you anything in this league, you have to fight for it. Overall, delighted with the boys.

We are trying to develop. It is not easy but we are trying that. We will continue to work. To get those points is a good return for us and we need to keep working.

Fantastic [fans who were able to get to the game]. There was an effort to get here. They were fantastic tonight and really helped us."

He put that on as soon as he saw you, as he knew you would be banging on about it on here.:lolol:

Tross seemed jolly as he waved from his low key motor.

Brighton factually.....
Well that rather bitter sweet, poor attendance as expected, flat atmosphere really.
Fantastic first half, we then dictated the second really, big Bob coming to our rescue a few times, Enoch showed he can probably step into Biss’s shoes when the time comes. Maupay rapidly turning into a legend, a good solid team effort.
Home within 30mins from the final whistle, rum poured and now sat in front of the tv ready for our obligatory last match to be showed on MOTD….

3 points above Palace and a game in hand, what’s not to like….

So pleased that Sanchez looked confident and dominant tonight. He was so out of sorts at times in the first half of the season but it's so reassuring to see him making cracking saves and coming out to claim crosses. Great performance, result and a much needed 3 points.

Gonna mix it up a little.

Bought myself a new hat, since the last home game.
Found my scarf from the 80's.
Won't wear my 'lucky' Groß t-shirt.

You're welcome.

What a beautiful Christmas present that was. Well needed win and at a good time too as we don't often break hoodoos in December.

I sadly couldn't make tonight, as like thousands of others (thanks sky, shit sharing scheme and covid), however, the atmosphere sounded very decent in the end.

Welbeck looked good, Maupay I think is such an important player to us and his goal was mustard.

Lallana poor, but we rarely say that so I'll let him off.

And Burn, what a game from him. So good to see our defence solid and Sanchez being joint mom for me.

All in all, bar the first 20mins, I'm very happy.

Tough trip to Chelsea yet.

Lallana poor ? Blimey, not from where I was sitting.

He had a great game, both halves. Scott Minto on the bbc sports match thread said near the end that he’d brilliantly controlled our tempo all game.

That’s what we all thought in our little socially-distanced WSL group. He’s also such a terrific leader on the pitch - constantly barking orders, praising where it’s due and bollocking when required.

Very decent all-round performance, two sweetly-struck goals and Welbeck looked a bit of a menace. He'll only get sharper for that run-out. Tho need to find room in the side for both him and Trossard obviously. All our christmases come at once really :xmas:
