He wasn’t looking as if he was fuming at all.
Players gave everything.
Throughout the two games we’ve created loads of chances.
Gave it away with poor defending in the first leg but you should be nothing but proud of the way we played tonight.
Correct.

I know he scored tonight.

But replace welbeck with a better finisher and it's a completely different over the two legs

It's clearly not all on him as the defence didn't turn up in Rome, but he takes a couple of the very good chances in rome and tonight would have been different.
Undav

Played well tonight. Calamitous and wasteful first leg cost us. We're a different team with Mitoma and JP.

Adringra not at the races offensively.

Two 1-0 wins with Bart in goal.........

lots to be proud of. We beat Roma. Fantastic. We beat Ajax, Marseille. Fantastic. We topped the ”group of death”. Shame we couldn’t take it further but what an experience.

Not 'The Great Escape'. Instead, 'A Bridge too Far'. Feels a little bit sad - a case of what might have been, however, can't fault the endeavour of tonight's performance.

Three clean sheets in four home. fixtures. Two in four away. Five wins from eight and a decent draw. All against sides with a solid European pedigree. For a team adjusting to European competition, that's pretty damn good.

I would love to see us back in European competition again next year.
