Fantastic performance. The one thing that drives me mad is the second phase following a set piece. Scenario: ball is played in, headed away by the defence and picked up by our holding midfielder. We've still got all our heavyweights up top - PLEASE play it in for a second time. Instead, we invariably end up playing it all the way back to Ryan.

Completely agree. But other than that, a superb performance.

Yeah, I don't get it either...

You're not the only one that's confused:
"Dunk thought he had scored his first goal for the club when he swivelled and fired home a shot on the bounce. But the VAR spotted Dunk was offside by millimetres when Mooy had crossed in his free-kick - even though the ball had bobbled around the box with several players on both sides getting a touch before it reached Dunk."
Good old BBC

Surely you don't need someone else for Boomerang training, as it comes back to you! Unless you're little frank sidebottom...

I don't like my boomerang,
I know what you're going to say,
If you hate your boomerang so much,
(all together)

The main difference today IMO, was we wanted it baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad, hence 3 points in the bin.

Also, big clearances made from the back or knocking into touch at times of pressure.

Trossard's pass was ridiculous, I think that's 6 assist points banked from the outside of his boot, wonderful pass and a superb finish, the best team at last won.

Pretty impressive all round. They left nothing on the pitch and looked pretty knackered. For me the only downside was Duffy who, like other centre backs this season, was prone to getting out of position and left us exposed more than once.

Ah the glorious release that comes from a second goal.

For over half an hour I felt like I had the soundtrack to Dunkirk rattling around in my head.
'We're gonna throw this away as well', manifested itself as a constant basey rumble of impending doom.

On commentary they were discussing an idea to just do a way with lines - if you need lines drawn to tell then it's not offside. Sounded like a good idea to me.
I believe MLS has a one look policy.

VAR takes a quick look to make sure nothing blatant has happened.

A big shout out to Frutos visiting his family for Christmas. We bumped into him on the way to the Amex, when he told me he's seen us play 3 Prem games (before today) and not seen us concede a goal, let alone lose.
He's kept his record today.

Anyone for a whip round to get him to more games, home or away?

Safe journey home tomorrow, mate.

Did anyone notice Duffy and Montoya clapping Ali J off today? I thought it was a nice touch and shows how tight they are as a unit - have they always been tight or is that Mr Potter? I know he is massively into team-building.

Was a nice ode to Ali J in anyway and shows how pleased everyone was for him!

The big plus today that went a long way towards the 3 points was the re-union of Duffy and Dunk at the heart of our defence as they know each others play so well and complement each other. They made us look much more solid in defence.

Was sure the game was tomorrow but would have missed out anyway because family stuff. Pleased to see the result and that reaction from Ali J brought some joy to my old heart.

Dynamic and mobile midfield was the main difference for me......three players all prepared to look and drive forward, and when one did they exchanged holding duties. All three worked brilliantly together. All had excellent games and Muff had no answer to them.
