Can he score goals?

He wants regular football, but Arsenal are unlikely to give him any guarantee, so we may be in the box seat.

The fact that John Cross is confirming our interest is quite telling.

Once the cup final is out of the way, we may see movement.

I think this has all the makings of a Lamptey signing.

Why don’t footballers have normal names anymore? FFS, what happened to ‘Smith’ on the back of shirts, first name ‘Bob?’ Instead we get ‘Paladine-Putchateafin’, first name ‘Emperor‘ but goes by the name Scorzey according to the squad index.

Is it any wonder football has lost its way. There’s no room for such names in sticker albums either. :censored:

Thank goodness you never bought a replica shirt with Vennegoor of Hesselink on it.

Amazing really. Lamptey, Lallana, new dutch player with CL experience and now talking about one of the hot English youth prospects signing.

Have i logged onto the wrong fanbase?

Amazing if we could pick him up. Lamptey as a Chelsea palyer who couldnt have gotten regular football has turned out alright. And we arent that far from London. Closer than Dortmund or Jordyville thats for sure. Could be a real fertile ground for us getting these 'not quite good enough for regular football' types out of the top 6 teams, esepcially London ones. Lamptey shows that we will paly them. Lallana shows the mean business.

Am only taking the word of Arsenal fans comments I’ve seen. I have never seen the guy play.

He has played midfield, but seems to more often used as cover in full back positions.

If he feels his path to playing where he wants to play is blocked then maybe we might be able to tempt him ..... only got to look at Lamptey to see how can take a step away from the top clubs and get regular games.

We've just acquired Lallana, we've got Alzate to return and I really hope young Molumby gets a shot. Then there's Biss, and whether we play one or two up front we will be wanting to play MacArgie and/or Trossard behind him/them. OK, we may well move on one or two of our slower midfielders, but even if we do, competition for midfield places is going to be pretty fierce.
The question for Maitland-Niles is, would we be able to guarantee him any more game time than Arsenal?

because of the revenue lettering on replica shirts is charged by the letter, Bob Smith = 8 x 5 bob, whereas Jonnnodeariecloudbaby Onabeachmooonlitshagmequick-Hotcummings is a lot more 5 bob’s

Indeed. And what's with silly team names. People raving about atmosphere at German football. Went to watch Borussia Mönchengladbach and when I tried to get it going with " Give us a B " absolutely nothing!

I mean from the outside looking in we are sorely lacking in strikers.

It is odd how we are so rarely linked with any.

Mainly a RB/RWB or RW as far as I know. Lamptey, Montoya and Veltman (at a push Webster and Alzate) have the defensive area covered right now, although there is a chance Montoya is off.

Seems to have been used as a bit of a utility player at Arsenal. Where would he fit in with us?

This was my thoughts - does anyone know what his best and preferred position is ? I know he has played a few games at full back but Arsenal have had a lot of problems with defensive injuries so I think that was more makeshift than anything. Would be happy if the answer is centre midfield to give us a bit more strength and pace in there.

Couldn't consistently get into the worst Arsenal team for 30 years despite them spending much of the season looking like a pub team. Do not want.
