a shit game between two shit teams - and i would bet my mortgage (if i had one) on at least one of those sides being relegated come the end of the season

we give away too many fouls, players are all over the shop, the midfield is far far too deep leaving our attackers exposed - there are issues all over the shop, and unless bloom spends some serious money and gets in some serious quality then we are going to be in even more trouble than we are now - especially as there is no way a slade-esque miracle will occur for a second season in a row

That also amazes me, what on earth makes these people think we a given right to be safe other than blind faith?

For me it isn't blind faith or a given right.

For me it is about experience. We have had a fair few relegation battle seasons in recent years. We have survived some and not survived others. I have seen enough good play to feel confident that we can get some results.

I don't think relegation isn't a possibility. I don't think it'll be easy, or that we'll breeze to safety. But I am confident we have the experience that helps in these situations, giving us a good chance to stave off relegation.

Yep. I'm the only fan that looks at our chances of relegation that way. I'm a lone beacon of positivity in a pessimistic wasteland.

My friend - sit in a cool room, with a stiff drink, shut your eyes & go through the game today in your mind (if you went).

Now look at the way we played, who played (our best starting 11), where Orient are in the table (no excuses this time that we are playing a top 6 team), our woeful home form of 2 wins in 12 starts & write on a piece of paper 100 times -

BHA will only escape relegation this season, if Mr Bloom spends £2m on new players & places at least half the current starting line up on the transfer list, immediately!

Or, I can remind myself that this is just one game.
I can remind myself we are only 3 points off safety with 69 points to play for.
I can remind myself how dismal we were last year and how we still managed to survive.
I can think of the form we have shown in patches in other games.
I can think of how there is no "best 11", that teams are sometimes picked on the weakness of our opponents, or a particular formation.
I can think of how if we did have a bes 11 it would probably have Murray in the starting line up, with Dicker and would have McNulty playing in his natural left back position, and take consolation that today wasn't that best 11.
I can think of how important momentum is, how being in a run of losing games can be self-fulfilling, and that an unexpected win, a bit of luck going our way can turn things around and despite the previous poor form, we could go on a decent run (much like we did towards the end of last year despite the awful run for the first 35 games of the season).
I can think of how we are in the relegation zone making comletely changing the squad a ridiculous thing to do in january. By the time the new squad has a chance to gel and come together (assuming they live up to expectations when we buy them) we will lose too much ground. We should buy wisely, and not overspend during an already over-inflated market time.

Unfortunately, I agree with you. Man for man we were no better than Orient. Indeed they did have the better of the game & if they had sneeked it 1-0, we couldn't really complain.

Other than our goalie, the whole lot of them as far as I am concerned can consider their place within the team untenable.

Time for a blood bath................

I don't think Brezovan was particularly good today either!

Sums it all up really.

Sounds a pretty fair summing up to me.............

I thought that he did everything that was asked of him today. Made a couple of decent saves & commanded his area pretty well I thought.

What about that moment when the ball bounced right past him and onto the post; at least 2 atrocious clearances; a couple of goalmouth scrambles where he was all over the place; not enough shouting or marshalling his defence. Not my idea of a good day at the orifice.

Must admit that I missed that moment. Was still in the queue for my chips, that was the only bit of enjoyment on the day!
