A personality the likes of which football won't be allowed to see again.

And what a loss that will be. The statue made a good point for me, how many of the current breed of managers, even the good ones, will get that? How many have that connection with their fanbase?

Fergie aside maybe, but nowdays most of his fanbase is from South Korea and Surrey..

Have any of you read "Provided you don't kiss me" by Duncan Hamilton? It's an excellent book on Clough, from the highs to the lows.

One story stood out that Hamilton relays. Clough was in Nottingham when a fan and his young son approach him, the dad says his son has saved up all his pocket money for the game today. Clough hands them two tickets and says enjoy it on me lads.

Just can't imagine that happening anymore.

I thought it was a good balanced show. It didn't try to crucify him but neither did it ignore the flaws in his character.

Is Malcolm Allison still alive?

Still think the Spitting Image sketch when he was re-arranging his drinks cabinet was class.

I think he's living in an old people's home - drinking/hard-living has caught up with him, I believe.

Malcolm Allison is just about alive. Sadly he had become a rambling alcoholic and is suffering from Motor Neurone Disease.

Have read it - a very good read and you are probably right about the tickets.

Wooooaaarrrrr........that's rubbish, missing from there you want bloody shooting! - Albion players take note

He came out with many fab quotes during his life. One of my faves was the one he made when Man U baled on the FA Cup & played in that bleedin' World Club Championship nonsense:

"Manchester United in Brazil? I hope they all get bloody diarrhea."

:clap2:

Piss. I forgot all about this.
Is it likely to be repeated on one of the murky ITV channels ?
