We are unshackled . All along Germany wanted to rule us. Didn’t win two world wars & lose so many to be part of their brand plans.

Feeling, very, very happy today. Almost as good as BHA winning the Premier or a Cup. If only lightning would strike twice

You make it sound like we won the wars rather than the allies. Let's be honest, we weren't going to win anything until the Americans eventually joined.

We do. So there is.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's exactly lile someone in nazi Germany saying, 'well I don't like this Hitler fella, but we live in a dictatorship so he's fine by me.'

And no I'm no comparing or government to the nazis, before I'm accused of that.

So all the clap trap about the fishing fleet was exactly that. We wanted 80% of what the EU caught in our waters and, with determined negotiation, we've settled on 25%. Brilliant.

After 47 years, our membership of the EU has come to an end, in really terms.

As I have said a couple of times on this board, I really hope it turns out well for the country, I do doubt it will, but, if, after 5 years the country is in a better position than it was 5 years ago, I will happily put my hands up and admit I was wrong.

I have learnt a lot about my country over the process, a country I have been proud to serve, and, there is a lot that if I’m honest, I find difficult to like anymore.

Think its fair to say the EU got what they wanted to protect their members. For Johnson in the end he has been forced to deal with reality

No rejoicing though from the EU, they are sad the UK has left we contributed a lot, without us the Single Market may never have happened

Cheer up Nicko, time to stop waving that little EU flag and move on with your life. Merry Xmas :xmas:

No you're not, but you're talking bollocks!

Anyway, go to bed, have a good sleep, and Happy Christmas.

Sad day , I now have to give up my trade and return to the land in the vain hope I can plant a herring and start a fish farm .

This is how I feel. I'm just so sad that democracy has clearly been completely abused, we have an awful prime minister who has pandered to some of the most ignorant and stupid in society, and the whole thing is a massive embarrassment. This thread sums it up. I can't see anything to celebrate really. Any sort of deal was the very least we could expect, so why are Brexiteers lauding it as some sort of triumph? It's like going to a restaurant and the chef coming out and telling you proudly that he's got the oven working. We don't even know the details, except that 80% of our economy is the services industry, and that has been completely ignored.

I don't feel English anymore, so much so that I'd happily move away if it wasn't for family commitments.

Great news. They said it couldn’t be done. Sovereignty obtained without tariffs. Control of our own laws and borders. Perfect.

Watch our country blossom in the coming decade now.

A new tariff on purchasing 'specialist research' material from the continent? :sheep:

No, a reduction in income for the HE sector, fewer opportunities for UK students to study abroad to further develop language skills as well as access to new networks and practices.

Job losses too as over 30,000 EU students come to the UK at present.

Instead it is being replaced with a scheme named after an academic who had to accept chemical castration under the Tory Churchill government in the 50’s due to the ‘crime’ of being homosexual before committing suicide.

EU will be delighted with no tariffs on goods, they have as Brexiters have always said have a huge trade surplus with us

Where did the rest all go wrong?

I'm sure it's all shits and giggles to JC Footy Genius though. Look out for another porn related quip, as it'll be a handy way to gloss over what is a serious issue for you.
