But surely HWT, surely, surely, surely, you can see that we made a decision. Johnson is the ONLY person that has come forward and say he will do it. We have dithered for three years and got nowhere. As soon as someone says they'll do it non democrats are up in arms. I did not vote for a deal or a no deal, I voted to leave the EU, that was my choice and that's what I voted. That is what I want to see happen.

Not arguing with you about whether Brexit has to happen or not. I suspect we will continue to disagree about that, but this isn't a discussion we need to have. My comments are about the way Boris has presented himself and his plans and their wider impact on the credibility of himself and government. He didn't need to have lied. If he had said 'I am letting hard Brexit happen and we can sort things out later' I would have said 'I hate that, but I understand it'. And I was also offering a small bit of ointment for this evening's binfest :lolol:

I'm going to Leave the pair of you to your Brexit reach-around and not respond to either of your posts, until 1st November. Looking forward to seeing the frothing when we're still in the EU......again. :)

I do hope you are right about Nov 1. If you are, I will be a happy man. Not optimistic, however.

I called your comments and those of others spineless, I DID NOT CALL YOU SPINELESS. F**k this is hard work. It's like teaching a class of three year olds.

Why are comments that are backed up with facts spineless?
Spouting slogans and saying things that are clearly lies is spineless, sussex gonad.

I have a problem here, my problem is all politicians lie. So whether you are Corbyn screaming for an election until presented one or Johnson bullshitting his way through office makes no odds to me. What I ONLY care about is my vote being followed through. That was a promise made to us. We respected that promise and voted accordingly. We voted to leave the EU, we did not vote for anything else, so to see these people here abusing me because I don't want to overturn democracy sickens me.

I now see disappearing logic in the Brexit lobby; increasingly it seems to have become a strange religion or cult where strong unerring belief and adherence to the faith undermines any serious scrutiny.

How can they be facts nothings happened so they're just projections based on assumptions

I'm guessing you haven't read Yellowhammer and the associated analysis. I've separated facts and projections for you below, as you're a bit simple.

fresh food availability will decrease, consumer choice will decrease, and prices will rise (PROJECTION). This isn’t good for the British public and this isn’t good for British retailers.

A no-deal Brexit in November represents the worst possible timing for the retail industry and the consumers it serves.. Warehousing availability will be limited as retailers prepare for Black Friday and Christmas (FACT), many fresh fruit and vegetables will be out of season in the UK (FACT)

On the redacted Para 15

Facing EU tariffs makes petrol exports to the EU uncompetitive. Industry had plans to mitigate the impact on refinery margins and profitability but UK Government policy to set petrol import tariffs at 0% inadvertently undermines these plans (FACT). This leads to significant financial losses and announcement of two refinery closures (and transition to import terminals) and direct job losses (about 2000). (PROJECTION)

Do you see how it works yet?

Vile human being, the previous Chancellor of the Exchequer projected a fall in the economy 8 weeks after a Leave election. That worked too.

Abuse aside (best place for it), we have to beware falling into the trap of assuming that everyone accepts our basic premises. Your understanding was that whatever happened in the referendum would and should come to pass. It is a reasonable assumption. However others regarded the referendum as advisory. Legally I think it is advisory. However legal and emotional reality are not always the same thing.

So everything is predicated by primary assumptions. When they differ, people can start lashing out (especially on an anonymous web site). Nobody is going to persuade anyone else of anything that violates their primary assumptions so it is pobably best not to evoke visceral feelings to make a point.

I personally think that leaving the EU is a terrible mistake, but I also think we mishandled our engagement in the EU for so long we were lucky to still be tolerated. All very sad. I'd rather build bridges, but I am not vicerally engaged with this, and I my primary assumptions differ from yours on the urgency to leave and the primacy of the referendum outcome. Maybe if I really wanted to leave I'd regard the word of the referendum like the revelation of the ten commandments (as you appear to do). But I don't. That said, I think we will tumble out on Oct 31, so you will get what you desire.

I will leave it there. All the best.

So no actual debunking of yellowhammer from you then? Just a repeated meltdown.

What are your projections and what are they based on? Is it Unicorns and the front page of The Sun?
