Right, so it doesn't support what you said. That doesn't say that our imports will be zero rated. There will be tariffs on cars, for example.

not according to the announcments/articles linked. we'll have to see what the Irish/EU would do about that border, especially how transit goods would be controled.

would be ironic if, having not bent on a back stop issue, No Deal came about and the Irish didn't apply any controls set out in the back stop.

The Irish Times states: "However, goods entering the rest of the UK from the Republic of Ireland would face tariffs which will be high in some sectors and be a particular threat to the Irish beef and dairy sectors, who sell a large proportion to the British market."

It's not just the 4 hours waiting times at A&E that is bad news. Hospitals are so underfunded. I needed a letter from a stroke specialist to my ADHD Clinic to enable meds to be prescribed. The secretary is so snowed under it has been 10 days and finally she called to say it had been sent.

That's another Tory plan. Keep underfunding the NHS, then point out that certain areas are so bad that only private funds can help out, and allow the Yanks to come in with their money, which is so much easier, once we're out of the EU.

(I belong to the Sjogrens Syndrome Association, and hundreds of us are being dismissed from Rheumatology depts, to save money)

That article doesn't support what you say (imports will be zero rated, the EU will not suffer):

"The new tariff regime would mark a shift in favour of products from non-EU countries.

It would mean 82% of imports from the EU would be tariff-free, down from 100% now.

92% percent of imports from the rest of the world would pay no border duty, up from 56%."

I think some people are getting a bit excited about this but don't take into account that, at the moment, about 80% of goods are tariff free anyway!!!

Sure. They rejected the initial EU proposal so their government went back and renegotiated.

Yes, they had a general election and voted in the pro austerity minister, who realised the only way to get out of the mess, their government had got themselves in to, was to accept the bail out.
It was hard but the Greeks themselves had the choice.

are they? by value? that would surprise me as it removes one of the principle reasons for (and objections of) the EU.

edit, found a source that suggests this would be about right, accounting for imports from EU and EU agreed quotas/deals.
