Quite so .. yet if we were to believe the deluded ramblings from some on here you would think everything is sweetness and light in the EU.

Here you are looking forward to a confrontation between Brussels and one of the union's largest members. I am interested to know if you feel that these sorts of bust-ups will happen more often in future.

Holidaymakers hit as pound falls....

"The pound's fall came after UK Trade Secretary Liam Fox said at the weekend that the chances of the UK leaving the European Union without a deal were growing.

He put the chance of failing to come to an agreement at "60-40".

The pound had already been hit at the end of last week by a similar warning from the Bank of England governor, Mark Carney, who told the BBC there was an "uncomfortably high" risk of the UK leaving the EU without a deal"....

Once again the hard working people of the UK who just want to enjoy a family break after a year of turmoil, uncertainty and no doubt long hours at a job where the wages are at a standstill, suffer at the hands of those who voted leave with no idea what they were actually voting for and a weak, selfish, bootless government who have no interest in whether Brexit fails or succeeds because they are financially and legally cushioned from the slings and arrows that the average working family has to suffer.

But hey, what would the Governor of the Bank of England and the UK Trade Secretary know, eh?

I suppose the "experts" should just keep their mouths shut as they are causing Brexit to fail. Yes, give us all the mushroom treatment as we shuffle arse first into financial oblivion.

Bloody Worthing!
Another day, another slew of bad news. BBC's Wake Up to Money had an expert discussing what WTO terms really mean. his analysis included a mention of 750 trade agreement to which we are now party that will need to be renegotiated with 3rd party countries.*

Perhaps we could get together a team of NSC Leavers to steam in and take this over? Blind optimism should see us through.

Meanwhile I think I'm going to add the term 'frictionless trade' to my glossary of Brexit bullshit terms.

*TBH I didn't fully grasp the technicalities. Wouldn't it be great if one of our Leaver friends could admit such a thing, instead of blithely swatting aside such matters? The net effect of Leaving will be more bureaucracy. If ever there was an unplanned and unwanted consequence of an action then this must be it!

Shock horror let's look for all the scare stories. Blah blah

Stick your fingers in your ears and keep shouting 'project fear'. It's proven to be the best response when there is no plan, no sign of one and you don't understand what's actually happening.

You may also want to keep your fingers in your ears for a good few months, because I can guarantee you won't be happy at the outcome of this clusterf*** you've created.

...but that would mean they have been 'wrong' and lets be honest, these people are too thin skinned to accept that.

Remain-voting areas will be hardest-hit by Brexit, research shows

March 27, 2018
Remain-backing parts of Britain will pay the highest price for Brexit’s disruption of British trade, according to new research that said the average person could be £1,700 worse off outside the EU.

Interesting, I thought it would be the leave areas. Whitehall still says it will be. I guess none of us win.

That's Good news then, it was 4k each at the inception of scare United and now down to 1.7k. We are in profit. By the time it happens it will probably be zero. Lots more money

The cluster has been created by remainers trying to sabotage a democratic vote. I think you have fingers in your ears pretending it never happened although yours is more head up your Arse cause you seem to talk out of it enough

Didnt we have a portion of this thread about six months ago trying to identify when the leavers would be blaming everybody else? Think you guys are popping off a bit early as per predictions.

So you voted for something you didn't understand, but never mind, easiest deal in history, they need us more than we need them etc etc,

So then, 2 and a bit years later when the chequers proposal was finally made, and you understood what you'd voted for, didn't want it and it was all someone else's fault

So you didn't like the result, quick NO DEAL, NO DEAL - In a few months time, you'll understand what that means, won't like it and that will all be someone else's fault

This was exactly what you voted for.

FFS You make Pretty pink fairy look like a political Brexit heavyweight - At least he has always said 'no deal' :lolol:

I really do think we are dealing with some cognitively challenged folk who see the world in black and white. I keep thinking of some of the Trump voters for some reason. It's a kind of 'proud to be dumb' approach; it's not just a lack of understanding but a reluctance to try to understand. Of course there is a case for Brexit and some very smart people subscribe to it and some of them might well be lurking on this thread, but they are a bit hard to discern at times.

It is hard to keep up with the fake news bullshit you snowflakes produce.
I am suggesting we do not do something that lasts a generation based on one snapshot in time. We need to be open to the fact that things change, people learn more and the world changes. We should adapt and change as well. It is a bit of a sham democracy to blindly follow one snapshot of an opinion from the past.

It's like pulling teeth with you. So how do you suggest we measure peoples wishes without holding another referendum ( which you've already dismissed ) ?

Er, because I was not alive in 1975. Hard to complain when you do not exist.

But as you want to remain in the EU you have accepted the result of that one snapshot. You only won't accept the latest snapshot because it's gone against your wishes. I assume if the result had been remain you'd have been happy with that single snapshot ?

I've stated them on here plenty of times but here you are again ....

Out of the customs union
Out of the single market
Out of the EU cometely
No surpemacy of the European Court
No payments to the EU after leaving
No second referendum unless the two options are accept the deal agreed or exit with no deal

I accept I'm unlikely to get all my wishes

Any chance you could just crack on with this project unilaterally?
