Can’t believe the Brextremists are jumping up and down celebrating the government bribing a foreign car manufacture to keep assembling parts in Luton to make a car. Assemble. British taxpayer paying foreign car company to keep a few assembly jobs. #thebrexitfuture

Happens everywhere not just in the UK. How do you think the French and Germans are trying to entice the banking sector, its not by saying please. They are offering plenty of bribes / special deals to secure extra jobs. It's called business and it happens within the UK as development areas offer special rates to new large businesses to relocate

You and thousands of others.
Online shopping is decimating the traditional High Street. High rent/rates and difficult/expensive parking doesn't help but online is the single biggest factor. Specialist shops find that a punter will come in, discuss quality of product and price and then go home, shop online and find a cheaper option. All the expertise comes from the retail specialist. All the sales go to the online warehouse.

since this actually has nothing to do with brexit, fell like chipping in to point out the High Street is a means to an end, not a end in itself. why does it matter if the shops are leaving, if we can buy goods and advise online? truely specialist and service oriented shops will continue, large shopping centres are thriving as leisure destinations.

I dug out the actual document. Looking at it again I think it's pretty factual and not really the 'Project Fear' stereotype. I guess the challenge would be for Leavers In particular to identify the falsehoods. I'm not sure if there's anything there that could rival the slogan on the Leave campaign's bus for being dubious. However, it's quite interesting to revisit this stuff now whichever of the two trenches you occupy.

Indeed it is interesting to revisit stuff, some people on here clearly do need a gentle reminder of the actual wording in that gov document from time to time.

A once in a generation decision

The referendum on Thursday, 23rd June is your chance to decide if we should remain in or leave the European Union.

This is your decision.

The Government will implement what you decide.

So when do the next generation get to vote ???

Perhaps years from now,if there is a demand for it and a political party wins power promising a rejoining referendum and has enough parliamentary support to legislate for a new Referendum Act.
But if it ever arises it will be after we have left and have respected the democratic vote to leave. Thats how democracy works.

When enough people vote for a party whose manifesto is dedicated to returning to the EU,as UKIP did for Leave.Perhaps you should ask for suggestions as to what name the party should have.My favourite is Spoilt B****rds wahwahwah Back to Nanny Party.:tantrum::flounce::cry:

Indeed but it was being used to show how businesses are still investing despite Brexit. The incentive is high for the return for some assembly jobs for a foreign company. The Germans will typically reward their own. The payback on slowly replacing the City as the financial centre of the EU will be massively rewarding.

If you honestly think the City of London is doomed to lose out to Frankfurt or Paris then you are seriously deluded. Yes, some jobs will go, but as we have seen with the inward investment, what companies say to put pressure and try to influence compared to what they actually do ion practice, are 2 separate things.

ALl of the financial institutions will leave the majority of their work here, as the City is set-upo to handle the volumes. Frankfurt and Paris aren’t. Also, Euro clearing is in reality, a small amount trade/profit for the City.

A referendum isn't legally binding no matter how many times the Brexiteers say it is. The government is elected by the people to act in our best interests. Our government has stated Brexit is not in our best interests but carries on anyway because they are too afraid to counter the supposed "will of the people". I would like to think one day our government will be held to account for what they are doing but they never do, do they.

Are any government ever held to account for anything they do probably not. Normally only election time when the next pretenders take over promising lots but delivering little

Cool
Which Brexiters have said the last referendum was "legally binding", considering you are claiming they continually say it is.
Shouldnt be hard to come up with a list unless its all in your head

As i thought, you a full of rubbish and incapable of backing up your invented claims.
Its odd you havnt learnt yet that your constant lying is easily debunked.

Well, we have both got exactly what we wanted then. I get to tell the facts and debunk another Brexit myth, you get to piss your pants and call someone a liar. Oh happy day.
