Yes. Almost half. Not quite half. Less than half. Not half. Certainly not the more than half you and your fellow disappointed remainers needed to, err, remain.

To paraphrase (with correction): You seem to be missing the point, which is that there is a huge* majority (over half the people who voted) who did want to leave.

* Over a million, I believe............

72% turnout too................and a higher than normal turnout of YOOF vote, the said same YOOF that barely get out of bed in the morning......and yet Remain still could not garnish a wining margin......that said it was a rainy day on ballot day.

It's repercussions will last for years.

I agree. You know I'm one of the more reasonable and realistic 'remain' voters on here, and time-and-tide will tell whether those years were worth it. I sincerely hope they were.

Oh, I think they've cracked that 'wining' margin completely!

You seem to be (probably deliberately) missing my point, which is that there is a huge minority (almost half the people who voted) who didn't want to leave at all, and here we are hurtling into a suicidal 'hard' Brexit with no concessions to those who wanted us to stay in the EU.

That 37% of eligible voters are able to determine the future for everyone else is ludicrous, not least because a lot of those who voted to leave did so on the basis of a massive, stinking, fat LIE

Ah, the famous lie on the £350m. The aim was to say whatever was needed to buy votes

Firstly I didn't mention where he was born , I mentioned where he is now , and where he is now wouldn't stand for freedom of movement with their NAFTA partners , wouldn't stand for rulings on US matters by representatives of Mexico and Canada , and wouldn't stand for laws that affected the U S being enacted by Canadian and Mexican lawmakers , so I think mentioning this with regard to his statement on Brexit is very pertinent indeed , in fact , did you read my post at all ? As your reply to it seems I'll considered at best or gibberish if I was to be really truthful.

Equating NAFTA with the EU is like comparing apples with pears. So what if the US wouldn't stand for freedom of movement with their NAFTA partners, wouldn't stand for rulings on US matters by representatives of Mexico and Canada , and wouldn't stand for laws that affected the U S being enacted by Canadian and Mexican lawmakers. What's that got to do with the price of sliced bread? Where he was born or where he currently resides are equally immaterial when judging the value of his opinion.

No, you're (maybe deliberately) missing our point. We either stay in the EU based on the minority of voters, or we leave based on the majority of voters. You seem to be suggesting that we should be staying in, because a large minority wanted us too, despite the fact that even more wanted us to leave. What are you on about?

That 37% of eligible voters are able to determine the future for everyone else is ludicrous
So who do you think should determine our future, the 34% who voted remain, or perhaps the 29% who couldn't be bothered to vote?

not least because a lot of those who voted to leave did so on the basis of a massive, stinking, fat LIE
Firstly, I'm not sure many believed that figure, and secondly, a lot of people who voted remain did so on the basis of lies from the remain camp.

the fact he is a Nobel laurete in Physics doesnt have much bearing on his objectivity on the political subject of Brexit, especially considering the langauge: "...i feel very strongly about Brexit and do not wish to be associated...". not very objective.

That's very sloppy, you've cherry picked part of one sentence to prove a very weak point.

Of course his intellectual capability has a direct bearing on the quality of his opinion on any subject on which he is informed.

Absolute rubbish, where he is now has EVERYTHING to do with the value of his opinion , it's not practicing what he preaches , just like labour politicians who advocate comprehensive education for OTHER PEOPLES children and then send their own kids to private school.

So you're suggesting that if the US state suddenly permitted free movement of Canadians across their border then an individual citizen's opinion would dramatically increase in value?

Unbelievable.

nothing sloppy about highlighting where he frames his opinion as a subjective assertion, when you are arguing he is being objective. you wouldnt find him using such langauge on the subject of condensed matter. objectively speaking, he has falsified your hypothesis. this doesnt say anything about the quality of his opinion on the subject, only by his own words its not objective. bottom line, citing Kosterlitz on Brexit is appeal to authority.

Yes , and Mexicans , what's unbelievable is your refusal to see the comparison.

Of course you were being sloppy when you cherry picked.

He's conveying a political message, of course he would use the language of politics to convey his objective conclusions, of course it's not the language he'd use when postulating theoretic physics.
