We were talking about the unity of the UK, Labour support has collapsed in Scotland and is under threat in some areas because of UKIP in England so I fail to see the relevance of your example.

The Scots have a choice on self determination and its up to them. I wont be told that i have to support those who voted brexit, and i am sure the majority of scots would say the same.

I didn't realise anyone was telling you that you should support those who did vote Brexit but acknowledging the majority democratic view prevailed would be a welcome change.

But again, do labour voters support a tory governemnt when voted in etc. The Scots have the right for self determination so its up to them how far they take it

The UK as a whole made a decision on their right for self determination so the same argument holds?

As did England-sorry little ole Brightoner's.....obvious why it's known as little london by the sea now.

The UK has constituent parts. The Scots will get to vote on their own destiny and they will choose. They may stay or they may go, who knows, buts its their choice, not the rest of the UKs.

Avoids the question/point but never mind ... as we both know you have been on the losing side re the referendum, it's about acknowledging the will of the majority (democracy)

Back to the subject, it will be their choice, not yours. I am ok either way, it will be democracy

Yes it will and I hope the minority of Scots take it in better grace than many of the whinging, undemocratic, patronising, elitist,. wind up merchants who lost out in the UK wide vote.

Um, ok. It was a referendum. There was one not so many years ago with another outcome. Who knows what the future with bring. Who is cimplaining! You are seeing shadows

The referendum is not legally binding as you well know. But likely to lead to an exit vote i agree. That said there will be pro EU parties running at the next election and of course democracy rules

Theory v reality .... an out vote was always going to be binding. If we both agree democracy rules then why are we even bothering to discuss this any further.

ALL the major parties (apart from UKIP) are pro EU. They'll just have to accept they haven't got a mandate to stay in the EU (as will the remoaners), and will have to Brexit as the nation has democratically demanded. It's tough for those poor precious politicians sometimes, ain't it? Bless!

Is it as simple as this? The referendum question was to leave the EU. Would the country be able to sign up to, say the Norwegian model, without any further vote? This model satisfies the "out of the EU" element but it's probably not what people voted for? Or maybe it is? My point being there should be some sort of vote on the exit terms don't you think?

No. We voted 'Out'. That means 'Out'. Do you have an alternative meaning for the word 'Out'?
