Well the arrival of the isolationist felon in the White Horse has finally jolted the Lib Dems into realising we need to rejoin the custom union, we're mid-atlantic without a paddle

Labour need to get a grip if they're serious about growth

All the while the media wheels out Farage and gives him a free license to lie on question time and the rest, it will be difficult for Starmer to suggest anything creative about the EU and expect anything other than electoral wipe-out in 4 years if he back-tracks from the Great Exit.

The electorate is apparently engaged in a once-in-a-lifetime, no turning back commitment to Brexit, Growth and Lower Taxes.

And if all three are not delivered then they will jolly well vote for Nigel. And/or whoever replaces Badenough.

As always, the public gets the government it deserves.

Starmer could have promised less, but had he done so we would have been enjoying more of Sunak and his band of goggle-eyed shitlers.

("And anyway, Starmer promised little and has delivered nothing. Whereas Boris was amazing. He bought a breath of fresh air. We need that back").

Tony Parsons may have changed his mind but is still what he has been for 45 years.
A pound-shop polemicist.
I once saw someone refer to him as “Tony Parsehole” and now never refer to him as anything else

It’s also the easiest thing in the world for Brexiters to suddenly say “oh what a mistake it was”, they don’t risk losing the thing they actually wanted while getting supposed kudos for “seeing the light”. It only counts if it comes from people who would actually lose something tangible (such as power, money or influence) from admitting it (e.g. a senior current Tory frontbencher or one of the Reform MPs).

The Lib Dems have always been Remsin, now Rejoin. Lewes MP got a 10 minute Bill accepted last week for the reinstatement of the Youth Movement.
The press are only just reporting it

5 years today since we Brexited.

£350M a week for the NHS.
Taking back Control of our borders and reducing Immigration
Prospering outside of the EU
Lower taxes and cost of living
Global Britain and a US Trade deal
Turkey joining the EU
Frictionless trade between the UK and Northern Ireland

Maybe we should celebrate with a Big Ben Bong. Ever been had ? :shootself

But she still thinks Brexit was a good idea.

It's like saying that the reason our operative died when jumping off a cliff with no parachute was because he had no plan.
Meanwhile she has basically labelled all her tory predecessors as idiots.

I'm beginning to think that Badenough has even less political nous than Corbyn.
Can we run a book on when she'll be kicked out by the Tories?

A reminder the UK never voted to leave the single market and the customs union.

This was a political decision by the Tories.

Until we rejoin expect more economic stagnation and yes even higher taxes

But after 5 years, surely now someone can name a Brexit benefit.

Oh and just a reminder feelings and bollocks about sovereignty don’t count …

Maybe some old posters (the ones that haven’t been banned) can come out of hiding or are they still too embarrassed?

If the Labour party want to be elected back in, they need to bring about economic improvements. Those things would help.

Agreed, and likewise our near neighbours/friends. There are very few winners from this … Farage, Jim Ratcliffe, Tim Martin …. an eclectic bunch of incredibly selfish arseholes. Plus of course Putin/Trump. Would love Starmer to set a pathway, but he seems to be going slightly the other way. Imagine the economic boost to the entire continent from the removal of utterly pointless trade and resources barriers.

Maybe, rather than keep embarrassing people who were taken in by the Nige and Boris lies at the time, we could just quietly join the Customs Union and start work to rejoining the EU (even working towards becoming a significant power in the world again). Without shouting about it, or highlighting what anyone said at the time regardless of the actual facts since. I think it's blatantly obvious that's what is best for Britain and I haven't seen anybody try to put the case for the alternative for a long time now.

I can't believe there is still anyone on either side of the argument, who would think there's a better alternative, because if there was, they would shirley put forward their case here with the relevant facts and figures

Reece Mogg would be apopletic about this.

Do it. If he is against then it is surely a good idea.

Watching the ITV Peston prog, they mentioned the mooted Youth Mobility Scheme with the EU. Encouragingly (as a litmus test of general public sentiment) 67% of Brits polled, support it.

17% oppose it, I cannot think of a good reason why. Spite?

Sadly, complete and utter, unremitting idiocy would be my guess.

And I think you will find all factual evidence backs up my guess
