I'd just like to point out here that ending freedom of movement was the "will of the people"

You must surely be aware of passports and visas?..
Once lockdown measures have been removed I will be free to travel wherever I so please, with my new blue passport and correct paperwork for whichever countries I wish to pass through..How has my freedom of movement been curtailed?

This is the simple truth about the NI protocol that Brexit supporters voted for, and isn't going away no matter how hard people stick their fingers in their ears and shout 'Project Fear' :dunce:

Northern Ireland protocol critics have no alternative, says EU ambassador

Political leaders who want the Brexit arrangements for Northern Ireland dumped have failed to come up with any better ideas, the EU ambassador to the UK has said, as police confirmed 41 officers were injured during violence on the streets over the weekend. João Vale de Almeida called on unionist leaders to focus on making the protocol work rather than fighting against it, pledging the EU’s commitment to flexibility on its implementation if the British government demonstrated good faith.

“The protocol is the solution for the problems created by Brexit in Northern Ireland and that’s where I believe we should focus,” he said.

Unless of course, any of the 246 posters who voted 'Leave' on this poll have managed to come up with any alternative over the last 6 years, but forgotten to mention it

Not to mention making a large dent in the estimated 100,000 people in this country trapped in modern slavery!

Watched 24 hours in Police custody last night, gangs of Lithuanian leek pickers being run by other Lithuanians ffs, some living in the woods in tents, apparently the gang master would go with the picker to collect wages from the farmers, I bet they turn a blind eye to all this cash in hand.

Goodness knows what other crimes these people commit.

A lot of these gang masters are immigrants themselves, I bet they have fun filling in their settled status forms.

whats the relevance of this? If people commit crime then they will be dealt with by the police

So by igniting violence in NI, starting the breakup of the Union, wiping out the fishing industry, stitching up the financial services industry, putting whole industries, businesses and jobs dependant on exports in danger, running no import controls and committing the greatest act of economic self harm in a generation, it will stop all criminal activity ?

Well why didn't you say so. It's just that for 6 years on this thread I've been reading that it wasn't all about Immigration

And would that be the same 24 hours in Police custody that had one Lithuanian leek picker, who got beaten up by two (admittedly very nasty) other Lithuanian blokes and then hid in a tent in the woods ? I must have missed the gangs of leek pickers, who were also living in tents in the woods at the same time. Maybe I fell asleep ???

Not that surprising as he's living in one of the most racist parts of the EU ....

Shirley, it can't be too long before he returns to the wonderfully tolerant and diverse Brexit Britain where vaccines are allocated due to need rather than political games.

No he hid in a shed you were asleep then, the Detective said there were others living in the woods in tents all over the place, clearly the slavery 100,000 immigrants in this country doesn’t bother you then, right o, still there’s always the fishing industry to talk about [emoji106]

And back on the actual topic of Brexit,

JPMorgan CEO: Brexit 'cannot possibly be a positive' for UK in short term

The chief executive of JPMorgan (JPM) has said Brexit "cannot possible be a positive" for the UK economy in the short-term and warned that the bank may eventually move all of its European operations out of London.

Jamie Dimon wrote in his annual letter to the bank's shareholders: "In the short run (ie, the next few years), this cannot possibly be a positive for the United Kingdom’s GDP – the effect after that will be completely based upon whether the United Kingdom has a comprehensive and well executed strategic plan that is acceptable to Europe."

Dimon said Europe had the "upper hand" and warned that JPMorgan may be forced to move all its Europe-facing jobs away from the UK. JPMorgan employs 19,000 people in Britain, including 12,000 in London.

Obviously not as urgent as the current daily violence in NI, but concerning all the same.
