I think we should have a referendum on whether to hold a referendum on whether to ever have a referendum ever again.

Remain had 46 MILLION chances and took 15 Million of them...clearly in any other walk of life such a minority would be accepted as defeat..

Oh dear. Brexiters getting more and more uncomfortable, nervous and aggressive as it starts to become apparent across all major news sources that no government in any form wants to initiate article 50 and very likely the referendum is now going to be vetoed. This could turn for the better after all. Fingers crossed, it becomes more likely by the hour.
Complete and utter rubbish.

Perhaps you ought to examine the thousands of small and medium sized business owners, who are the life-blood of this country, who voted to leave. Just go and ask some of them why they voted as they did. These are the real wealth creators and have their finger on the pulse. They are educated, driven and positive. These are the people looking forward. These are the people that will keep this country on track. You won't hear doom and gloom from these people. Whilst all the hand-wringing and wailing and gnashing of teeth is going on, they are still employing millions of people and paying their taxes in the UK.
Politicians don't create wealth. They squander hard earned money. It amazes me that so many are prepared to put their faith in faceless bureaucrats, who are, first and foremost, paying themselves fortunes and looking after themselves. To trust the political elite in Brussels is misplaced and misguided faith.
My accountant did a poll of its small business clients and the overwhelming verdict was leave

They tried to call our bluff and failed spectacularly....You can bet your right bollock they're really gutted inside and they will swallow their pride!!
In time we will be in demand from all over the world and we will boom boom boom:clap2:

Give it a week or two and you will see a different EU towards us as they need us more than we need them and more importantly they will be seriously worried about a chain reaction,so will be having many emergency meetings shortly.

Yep they will be Qing up to buy financial services and Japanese cars.

I was involved in a trade mission to India in 1990, out of all the products they were offered to import, they chose to buy £ 15000 worth of non-sliding table mats.
It didn't even pay for the trip, and that btw, was a trade deal independent of the EU, that according to some we werent alllowed under EU rules.

gold...!!

The Jam were truly PROPHETS!

'What you see is what you get
You've made your bed, you'd better lie in it
You choose your leaders and place your trust
As their lies wash you down and their promises rust

You'll see kidney machines replaced by rockets and guns
And the public wants what the public gets'
"You choose your leaders and place your trust
As their lies wash you down and their promises rust".

Just about the opposite of what happened on Thursday... ... ...

Check the media. We'll see. Nothing is guaranteed but it's good to see that the ridiculous notion of leaving EU is at least being challenged.

Expert: No new EU referendum

http://www.theargus.co.uk/news/1458...um_and_no_independence_for_Brighton_and_Hove/

A petition signed by more than 2.8 million people calling for a new EU referendum has no chance of reversing this week's historic vote to leave, Britain's foremost elections expert has said.

Professor John Curtice, whose exit poll was the only one to predict the Conservatives would win last year's general election, said the referendum was so divisive within mainstream political parties and their supporters that it would be unlikely to form a campaigning issue for some time - let alone spark another public vote.

Thursday's referendum saw 17.4 million (51.9%) votes cast to leave the EU, compared with 16.1 million (48.1%) for remaining part of the bloc, with a turnout of 72.2%, according to the Electoral Commission.

In response, more than 2.8 million people have signed an online petition calling for the Government to implement a rule that "if the Remain or Leave vote is less than 60% based on a turnout less than 75%, there should be another referendum".

Prof Curtice said: "It's no good people signing the petition now, they should have done it before. Even then, these petitions don't always mean a great deal.

"It has passed the 100,000 mark for it to be debated in Parliament. All that means is that some MPs will say, 'It's a terrible shame', others will say, 'Hallelujah'. Then that's the end of it."

Almost 160,000 people also signed a separate petition on the Change.org website, calling on new London mayor Sadiq Khan to declare the capital independent from the UK and apply to join the European Union.

A less well-supported petition on the Change.org website include a similar plea for Brighton and Hove to become a member state of the EU.

The clamour to add signatures to the Government website-hosted petition comes amid dissatisfaction from voters who wanted the country to remain part of the union while anecdotes began to emerge from those who said they regretted voting to leave.

The poll resulted in David Cameron announcing his resignation as Prime Minister while the pound slumped to its weakest level for three decades.

None. But I am surprised you can get away with number 4, as amusing and true that it is.

It's a piece of cake. I normally mention number 1 and 2, then 'pretend' a male student in the front row has said something. I go over to him, lean down as if he has whispered in my ear, and come out with number 4 in mock shock as if it has just been told to me.

I'm amazed anyone fell for number 3 TBH.

I have checked the media. Can you provide any instances where credible politicians are suggesting this may be the case? There is no way there will be another referenda and people need to understand that everyone feels twitchy in that we are on completely new ground. It will take a while for things to settle down.
