The French government have confirmed there will be no change to our border controls based in France.

Business Secretary Sajid Javid (Remainer) virtually conceded this morning the punishment budget and the treasury short term economic forecast predicting catastrophe he claimed would happen after Brexit were all a crock of sh*t.

Merkel has signalled that punishing the UK through negotiations is a non starter.

Project fear indeed.

I agree, Sajid Javid was very weak but then again so was IDS who was an member of the official leave camp and basically admitted they lied about the £350m going to the NHS.

So do you really believe that the EU doesn't already trade with some of the largest, fastest growing economies in the world?
I agree with control of laws but am not convinced we will ever be able to control immigration. Sure I read that approx 50% of immigrants were from non EU countries. I suspect any trade deals with EU will have clauses about free movement.

I think that's probably the case.

There's really no probably about it. With 48% voting to stay in the EU, it's pretty obvious that over 50% would like to keep the trade and free movement.

In a way it's a shame we didn't have three options on the ballot paper - it could have at least differentiated between leavers who are mainly concerned about things like sovereignty / law-making, etc and those who were mainly wanting to stop immigration.

Would have been handy, but maybe too complicated. Don't forget the leavers are brain dead.

Malta asked for the UK's help in the 18th Century to get rid of the French Invaders. Anything done since then was purely British self interest. Malta was strategically important to Britain and that is why the Germans and Italians wanted it.

I am no economist. I am a businessman and all I can do is draw comparisons with my own situation and imagine a similar scenario.

Which is...

I am a business that is in a club with other local businesses. I benefit from trading within this club and as a member of this club I benefit from trading with everyone else. I do well, am responsible for loads of employees and I am enjoying financial success and stability. However this club do cause me loads of red tape which I am getting fed up with.

I decide to go it alone. I leave the club and go to renegotiate trading deals with the club and with everyone else.

I approach the club but they are very busy sorting out the terms of my exit, re-negotiating internal agreements with everyone else within the club and re-negotiating terms with everyone else. I am their least priority.

I approach everyone else. They are busy re-negotiating all the deals with the club that I don't belong in anymore. I am their least priority.

What should I do?

I can't sustain this for long, employees will have to be laid off. If I'm not careful my mortgage won't be paid, my kids won't be fed.

You were talking about "illness or work commitments being on holiday".

People suddenly went on holiday "on the day of the vote", or didn't plan their work around 7am to 10pm opening of polling stations? Were they taken by surprise?
