It is strange the way absolutely nobody is taking any responsibility for sorting out this 'dreadful Irish Sea border' problem that has arisen. From the most senior Brexiteers Johnson, Gove, Farage to the most junior JC Footy Genius, Chicken Run.

And yet, each and everyone of them voted for it to replace Theresa May's NI backtstop.

It's almost as if none of them had any idea what they were voting for again ???

Bored, lonely retired man who wanted no deal as soon as Boris took over complains (again) about a Brexit deal that causes less disruption ..... just another fun day on the Brexit thread

Are you a fisherman and wanna export to the EU???

Here are your 71 pages of instructions.

Brexit reality on the Fal River in Cornwall, feel for these guys...

https://www.channel4.com/news/fishermen-in-cornwall-face-ruin-over-eu-post-brexit-trade-rules
It is a bit of the EU's making and quite a bit of ours.......... As I'm sure you are aware the EU have a raft of legislation concerning health and safety issues.. One of the many is "Water Quality" be that on land or on our beaches. Suffice to say we used to be the sick man of Europe pouring lots of human waste almost untreated in to our seas and rivers.... The EU forced us to clean up despite us bleating that it would be bad for consumers as it would make bills go up.

Slowly but surely there was change, seaside resorts that replaced the inefficient overloaded sewage plants with different systems got rewarded with Blue Flag status for clean beaches and good seawater quality. It became a source of civic pride when your town got a Blue Flag. However EU standards constantly improved and we slowly got left behind and the number of Blue Flag beaches dwindled from its heyday..

While we were still members I think the EU had the attitude that we were on the naughty step and should try harder. We pleaded exemptions because of our outdated systems ( Southern Water are still regularly charged and fined for discharging untreated sewage) would be too expensive to update. So, we were on notice, as it were while members, and now we are no longer members we are trying to sell and export filter feeding shellfish from EU substandard waters. Is it any wonder the EU says " Non"? We are in a mire of our own making quite literally!

For reference in 2015 the UK had a total of 113 Blue Flag beaches and marinas.

France alone had 394 Blue Flags.. Even Ireland had 83.

Southern Water, Shoreham port ? Starting to get a bit close to home now

Marine Management Organisation’s recently published report revealing that in 2018, 18% of scallops landed in the UK by UK fishing vessels were landed at Shoreham Port, making it the number one scallop Port in the UK. Shoreham Port has seen an influx of scallop landings in the last three years, with an overall landing increase of 37% since 2016 and a catch of 5,817 tonnes of scallops in 2018.

Barclays CEO Jes Staley Says Brexit Will Benefit of City of London

Barclays Plc’s Jes Staley said the U.K.’s departure from the European Union will prove to be a net benefit for the City of London.

Classy, I bet you're a hit with the girls, and besides POTG? is meant to be the funny one-liner account, JCFG is the angry Unionist Brexiteer, remember ? After spending all these years and posts trying to pretend to be two people, I thought you may have got a little better at it by now :dunce:

Anyway, back on topic,

You obviously have no understanding of Jes Staley, the Barclay's CEO's motives for what he is saying or meaning.

London should compete with New York and Singapore in post-Brexit world, Barclays boss says

"I think what London needs to be focused on is not Frankfurt or Paris – it needs to be focused on New York and Singapore," he said. "Brexit gives the UK the opportunity to define its own agenda and in defining that agenda around financial services staying competitive with other markets outside of Europe is really what the government here should be focused on and I think that is what they're focusing on," he said.

He's just another one of JRM's deregulators trying to set up a British Singapore,. This is the exact reason that the EU will not grant passporting and equivalence to British Financial Services, because they believe we are going to deregulate the market in our desperate search for business to alleviate the enormous and ongoing impact of Brexit. I can't believe that after all this time, you still can't understand.

Now remember that this is the 'Good deal' that you went on and on about and finally celebrated. It has nothing for the service industry, it has an Irish Sea Border, it has export tariffs and non financial regulations crippling a number of industries, there are more regulations to come, and we still haven't put in the customs procedures for Importers to the UK.

This is exactly what you campaigned and voted for. I have to ask, is there any aspect of Brexit that you have understood at all

I have no understanding! :lolol::facepalm: Yeah, he's just one of 'JRM's deregulators trying to set up a British Singapore' ...

Staley also said that deregulation wasn’t the answer to maintaining London’s competitiveness as a global financial centre.

Regulation “protects the financial industry” and “makes the bank safer,” he said. “I wouldn’t burn one piece of regulation.”

.... continuously misrepresenting others opinions to suit your flawed argument is both tiresome and dishonest. It's why no one (with any sense) takes you seriously and you are largely a figure of ridicule.

Well, if he said “I wouldn’t burn one piece of regulation" in his attempts to "compete with Singapore", then that's definitely true then

No wonder you fell for Johnson's 'No Irish sea border' just after he negotiated an Irish Sea Border. You really are a Nigerian investor's dream :lolol:

so in a nutshell, Brexit is great for banks to prosper and bankers to continue to pay themselves obscene bonuses. Quite how that benefits ordinary folk like us iĺl never know

Brexit was always a neo-liberalism project where the rich get richer

Remember to buy Cadburys guys.

Back Britain.

https://www.express.co.uk/news/poli...3m6q_zlh6GccBLoWBDTf5zaEEmtxt97HMXYBvVDaEFQqM

I noticed the usual Brexity trash rags were getting excited over this. Spouting the usual anti German xenophobic drivel for their gullible readership. Cadbury isn't even a genuine British company as its owned by US multi national Mondelez. Cadbury paid no corporation tax in Britain in 2018 despite reporting a local profit £185m. Cadbury is moving back to UK as that is where the majority of their market is. Fair enough. Truth is, few in the rest of Europe buy Cadbury products. They are considered mass produced shite with too many additives. There are far superior locally sourced products in Germany, Belgium and elsewhere that conform to higher standards of production. Pesky red tape and all that. Until around 20 years ago Cadbury chocolate wasn't even allowed to be marketed as chocolate due to its excessive vegetable fat content. A compromise was reached over the reduction of vegetable fat content after a long running dispute.

As confirmed, the move won't create one single new job aside some extra hours for part timers and seasonal workers. It will have little effect on the local Mondelez production centre at Bludenz which also produces the Milka range amongst other products. A disappointment for Express and Mail 'readers' who thought they were giving Germany and Merkel one in the eye. Or it would have been had they even managed to get the country correct. The Mondelez Production plant is indeed located in Bludenz....in Austria! Never let a misplaced country get in the way of a spot of jingoistic dog whistle.

The Barclays CEO was just pointing out there could/would be new opportunities outside the EU whereas the 'rich' (big business/bankers, many responsible for the crash) mainly backed Remain, the political establishment/Elites UK, European nearly all backed staying in the EU ... apart from that spot on.

He benefits from having some understanding and knowledge of the issues, which unfortunately for you, trumps doing an occasional google search so you can try and pretend (epic fail) you know what you are talking about :D

Anyway, more important matters to consider now ... :bhasign:

Yes, I know about most of that. But you can't deny it will keep Cadbury employees in a job.

https://zulanyp.wixsite.com/fitlosophy/single-post/2017/01/24/cadbury-vs-milka-chocolate :)

But they are both owned by Mondelez and if there is a bar of Cadburys next to a bar of Milka in the UK, we should all buy Cadburys to look after the UK.
Just like Germany do, in the motor industry, for example, the German Car manufacturers look after all other german companies and literally slam the door in any other countries face. Germans are renown for this.

So time for the Brits to pull together now.

January's highlights:

▪️Lotus: 250 new jobs
▪️Bombardier: Huge export order
▪️What More: £20m investment
▪️Fernite: New factory
▪️MBDA: £550m MoD order
▪️Bentley: Record sales
▪️Norton: New factory
