If we are that bad why do I know several people and families that have settled here from South Africa Sweden,Australia,France and Germany that prefer living here then own country.. Most I know well and most criticise there own country. Good and bad wherever you live

I have two South Africans reporting to me, who I recruited this year. In their case it is simple, their country is decending into a dangerous, corrupt cess-pit, so the UK is obviously attractive to them.

I'm glad that from 1st January having secured our borders we can now keep out things like Dutch Elm Disease and German Measles. My only disappointment is that the Government haven't announced when our money is returning to pounds, shillings and pence.

Our economy is at the start of a boom. There is an awful lot of cash & private equity money waiting to be invested in IT/new tech businesses. Not the time to be opening a clothes shop on the high street I grant you, but the UK will do very well in the next 3 years.

Very well for the super rich tax avoiders now that they won't face EU scrutiny

Hope so. I mean he ‘got Brexit done’ but even a cursory glance at the deal suggests we’ve stitched ourselves up economically. Ah well, least we’ve taken back control eh.
Not so bad if you are in Northern Ireland, you get easy access to the Free Market.

Not from a Brexiteer .... but they got away with it anyone. Billionaire and millionaire tax evaders, cheats all across Europe. As revealed by the leaked documents from Panama, Liechtenstein and Switzerland. Thousands were Germans for example.

tax avoider is someone following the law. whats your point and relevance to EU? there are many avoidance means that are because of the EU, eg Irish subsidiaries, Luxembourg discount VAT, are you in favour or against them?

Bloody Worthing!
Johnson is selling the deal as if it was the best thing since sliced bread. And, yes it's better than the calamitous no deal alternative. But to claim that the deal has 'created' the largest free trade area on the planet is a bit of a stretch given that what he's done is to take the biggest frictionless free trade area on the planet and turned into a a free trade area which includes the border friction of member that is nether in the single market nor the customs union.
You can boast about the sovereignty issue (if you must) but not the liberalisation of trade when you've single-handedly moved things in the opposite direction.

So much time spent on fish but services almost ignored

One additional take away is light touch border checks for EU exporters of goods to ease border chaos, but for UK exporters its full checks (plus covid tests too)

Would saying "we're led by donkeys" be an insult to this humble mammal?

so after 4.5 years, We've thrown away our Germany++ have your cake and eat it deal, are 200bn in the hole and swapped it for an inferior deal where the EU has the cake and eats it.....and still doesn't actually deliver sovereignty

Great work

its apparent in retrospect that services were largely moved out of scope, not ignored. some important items like finance passporting not covered, some areas have been rolled over for 6 mths or in case of clearing extended to mid 2022. may be it was too much to cover in time, too controversial or simply dont want included. expect there to be a services focused negotiations rolling in the new year.
