You beat me to it. Even Kay Burley was challenging Gove by reminding him the British sold off their fishing rights years ago. Something I have been posting regularly on this thread.

So Acardia and Debenhams set to go to the wall. Over twice as many jobs going as the whole of the UK fishing fleet
Yes but fishing gives Johnson a better photo opportunity to dress in yellow fishing gear and pose with an unfortunate denizen of the deep.So Acardia and Debenhams set to go to the wall. Over twice as many jobs going as the whole of the UK fishing fleet
You seem a bit of a business guru.
How much to attribute Brexit to the fall of Green's empire?

Please point out where anyone has attributed Brexit to the fall of Green's empire.
One of the effects of the two events was compared, that's all. Did you really read the post you replied to?
On the gov.uk website now, down the page a bit under cross-border trade:
The EU and UK will trade on WTO terms from 1 January 2021.
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/ireland-providing-services-after-eu-exit
So is that it then? The adverts encourage you to go the gov.uk website, and when you do it says WTO terms and no EU Treaty Freedoms. In my book that's Hard Brexit, No Deal.
It's been up for a few hours now, surely this can't be a cock-up?

Oh yes it can. I really think people underestimate this Government's ability to cock up. I believe there are still people in Senior positions in this Government that don't understand what all this means, regardless of whether we get a deal now.
I texted someone I know because I was led to believe there would have been an announcement by now and I wondered what had happened. I received a one word reply 'incompetence'
I think the few months after Jan 1st will come as much of a surprise to them as it will to the Brexit voters on here.
And I notice that no one has picked up on the fact that our new 'light touch' customs for the 'first 6 months' means that under WTO Most Favoured Nation rules, means that we will have to apply the same rules to goods from the rest of the world. ie If we aren't checking any standards or applying any tariffs on goods from the EU, we can't apply them to anyone else.
Taking back control in order to open our borders to everyone and everything
Tick tock
Light touch was first talked about in July by Gove, then the idea was off, now its back on again
Really not sure they know what they are doing. Clearly completely unprepared.....
A number of Permanent Secretaries and Director Generals in the Civil Service have tried to advise Senior Ministers what was happening and going to happen for a long while, but they have all been moved sideways, sacked, resigned or retired (some very publicly in the last year) because they weren't 'on board' with Brexit. In some cases they've even been replaced with political appointees.
The next in line know what's going to happen but aren't ready to end their careers just yet, so are just keeping their heads down and covering their backsides (quite understandably). They all know what's going to happen, regardless of any deal now.
Allegedly
Tick tock
Latest predictions from OECD. Makes for grim reading.

I hope they are keeping records and even recordings.
This Government really likes an unfortunate scapegoat to take all the blame.
