That's a disgusting attitude

Then speak to IDS about it.
So many posts on here so I do not know if it was ever mentioned.
Right at the start of the referendum results programme IDS said that council estates have voted in their droves.
My jaw dropped, he clearly meant that we were relying on the feral, thick, uneducated racists that inhabit council estates to vote leave.
IDS proved he was a nasty piece of work when it came to benefits for the poor and unemployed, his reasons for resigning were pure crap, then the people he was trying to shaft a few months earlier then voted for something he was a big part of, how stupid can you get.
It takes some doing but IDS is a very very nasty piece of work.

Did I say that everyone in the older generation voted leave? The majority of over 65s voted leave and the majority of 18-40s voted to remain. That is a fact.

How do you know that? Were you in every polling station in the UK and Gibraltar?

Credit rating dropped a small amount surprised we had AAA to begin with when we have debt level 66% net of annual GDP (who and how did we get that level) I as an individual would never-

As for Scotland my thoughts are the EU should say that although they voted remain, they voted as part of the UK and as such should try for independence obtain a currency and action plan and go through the process of application to join the EU at a future date.

That is exactly what is going to happen with Scotland - it was predictable....and NI voted remain too but they will now have to re-introduce their national border controls with the republic. Welcome back the IRA - good job guys - well done!

Sign of someone that cannot accept democracy.

Many bad decisions have been made democratically, the margin is so narrow on this as well that it does not seem right to forge ahead with such massive change.

You obviously know which ones I was talking about [emoji849].
If your point is that some people had bigoted reasons for voting leave, then of course I agree.

But this thread wasn't just about bigoted reasons, it was about all mad reasons, so some of the stupid reasons being posted her are not bigoted reasons, and I am simply pointing out that there were also people with no reason / a stupid reason for voting remain.

And how quickly is our whole legal system going to be rewritten?

And when are we getting rid of all the foreigners so us good ol' English people can start working and not claiming benefits again?

You may mock but were the last part 2nd part of your question come true within the next 5 years we would be making headway.....I include our young mass unemployed in that I think you would agree that far too many of the youth of today have little or no prospect..

A very true fact. It was pension day on Thursday and every pensioner across the land was asked how they were voting as they were collecting their pension....that is why the queues were so big apparently, they were not buying books of second class stamps.

Really ? You consider the fact that the French are so intransigent that we have to move the EU parliament for 4 days a month at a cost of £150,000,000 a year , ''trivial'' ? Its symptomatic of the waste and corruption that are endemic throughout the EU and to brand it trivial is the epitome of what a lot of the remain camp dont ''get'' about people who voted to leave , there is also the little matter of the CAP and the fact that the auditors have refused to sign off the Eu accounts for the past 15 years or so.

One point and one question.

I accept that the Strasbourg thing is a nonsense but £150m is not a lot in government terms - compare it to the £285m the British government just wasted on an airport on St Helena.

Why do you persist with the untruth that the auditors haven't signed off the EU accounts for the last 15 years?

I can't admit I voted leave in public. They just don't get it. At school pickup I excused my tiredness as being due to watching the election all night - the reply I got was a rant about how could people be so stupid. I decided to keep quiet :D

It's funny how you can mouth off about it online though. Isn't that the definition of a troll, someone who is happy to shout about their views online (when anonymous) and won't admit to them in public? If you really believed you were right, you would be open about your opinion.

Scotland want to break the union and take us back 400 years no matter what- us little Englanders merely want to leave the EU

The best example you could think of for a remain voter having a silly reason to vote was that they didn't answer when asked why they voted remain. That's not exactly a bad reason to vote in comparison to the many explicitly racist reasons that people have given for leaving. I'm not saying that they are all bigoted ...

Did you not see the stats that were quoted earlier in this thread? If you didn't, I suggest you take a look. Ignoring that, it is also obvious as the younger generation are more open minded and less anti Europe

As I already said,if you're gullible enough to believe YouGov statistics you are a bit of a silly billy.:)

Where were these complaints before the referendum? Would you be saying exactly the same had remain won by this margin, calling for a new referendum or calls to ignore the result as the margin of victory wasn't big enough?

Why 55%, why not 60 or 70 or 99% (until you get to a figure that fitted your own wishes)

If leave had won by 54.999% of the vote then the majority who voted still wanted out but the minority would win. How is that democratic? We'd have a decision where the majority would be left unhappy and make a mockery of the result just to please the losers who held the minority viewpoint. It certainly wouldn't be just.

Well there was a petition -https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/131215 - now doing the rounds rather late to say it should have been 60%; it just didn't get very widespread social media coverage in time. And no, I wouldn't be saying same if Remain had not won by same margin as the barrier for change should, IMO, be higher than for status quo. And yes, I would say that, wouldn't I, so I am.

My points are not so much sore loser but to argue that Cameron wanted to win and if you want to win, you load the dice as favourably as you can. This isn't a sport with pre written rules. He realised he made a mistake in Scottish referendum allowing Salmond to have YES (Salmond is quoted as saying he was amazed at that), tried it on this time but the Electoral Commission stopped him.

EU was a non subject in the Election. Cameron brought it on as a sop to backbenchers and since then, has played a strong hand unbelievably badly. I spent many hours leafleting and was cursing continuously at the the need to do so. There was no demand from the general populace for this referendum and now Cameron's cackhandedness has left us in a mess.

The explaining and debating was done over hundreds of pages on the EU threads, no need to explain now/again, it will not change your opinion or indeed the vote.
Constant nick picking is not going to change the result.

So in otherwords the farmers do not benefit so you not want to respond but hide behind a its there somewhere excuse
