I feel a little responsible. I suggested that maybe he should cut down on the Porn and Puff a bit, didn't know he would get so abusive without it. Sorry

It my have been him (can't be bothered to check) about whom I confessed to reading one of his posts yesterday (I certainly have him on ignore). May have sent him a bit giddy.

Good news about Nissan, oooppps sorry wrong thread. Have a good evening.

No this is the right thread and that is one piece of good news.

[tweet] So what gives? The answer surely lies with the strength of the Sunderland plant, which is lauded for its high productivity and access to skilled labor. Nissan’s other European operations just don’t seem to stack up—not least its factory in Barcelona, which executives this week announced would close.

For almost a decade the Spanish site has been functioning below its maximum capacity, whereas Sunderland—currently undergoing a $500m refit—is among Europe’s most advanced car assembly lines.

Putting this together, it appears that Nissan values production prowess over seamless supply chains.

It’s important to keep things in perspective, however. This week’s announcement isn’t quite the Brexit bombshell that many would like to believe. For now, thousands of British jobs are safe—but no company can rule out future cuts, particularly in such a perilous commercial climate.

And there are bigger forces at play than Brexit. Though commitments have been made to its UK operation, Nissan freely admits that Europe is no longer a priority, listing Japan, North America, and China as its new "core" markets. This is a reflection, perhaps, of its corporate alliance with Renault, a French firm which plans to consolidate its grip on the continent while Nissan focuses elsewhere. [/tweet]

As an experienced Pasta watcher, I wonder if it's wise for you to post after bedtime? This is just nasty.

Pesterfarian does 'nasty' quite well, doesn't he..... but like his politics, there isn't much constructive or inclusive here; he's a real poster boy for the extreme Brexit philosophy.

Yes, I was one of the million or so who went on the marches, wrote some letters, bunged a bit of money to the cause. It seemed reasonable, given that most people wanted it. We tried but we failed. I'm disappointed about that but not ashamed. Now, what did DR do in support of his cause, apart from his shallow witterings on here?

Leavers didn't need to do anything we won the vote. Only deniers went on marches under false pretences
