Go on.....

I treat people with respect if it is reciprocated, if they are just an arse, I treat them like one.

I think that's entirely fair.

I have not been on this thread since the Brexit was passed, but got called in by HT.

There were way too many posters on here who could not accept the decision, which is sad in itself, so I left them to grieve.

More along the lines of rotting in their own stench it's all very amusing you've got to feel for them , haven't you

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...imes-more-rescue-flights-for-citizens-than-uk

Highlights in the article for you....

"The German government has taken the lead role in the biggest repatriation effort in peacetime, chartering 30 times more rescue flights than the UK and flying home more than 40,000 travellers from across the world, according to figures obtained by the Guardian.
As British tourists waited for details on Dominic Raab’s £75m rescue mission, the German embassy in London revealed it had now repatriated 42,000 German nationals from 60 countries on 160 charter flights over the past two weeks."

"The scale of the rescue task emerged as one of the charter companies hired by the German government said it had offered assistance to the UK but that the Foreign Office had not returned its calls.
Air Charter Service, which helped organise flights following the collapse of Thomas Cook and Monarch airlines, told the Guardian that it had been hired by France, the Netherlands, the US and Germany in the past nine days but had not had any contact from the UK."

"In India, where commercial flights have been grounded for at least a week, dozens of Britons are believed to be among more than 2,100 travellers rescued by the German embassy using specially chartered aircraft.
Chris Linford, 56, a cafe owner from Derbyshire, said he and his family were among a group of about 40 British tourists on a German flight from Delhi to Frankfurt on Friday. On Tuesday, he praised the German government for their “unbelievable” repatriation effort and accused the UK of being missing in action.
“You can’t get through to anyone at the British embassy in Delhi – we spent about £120 trying to get through to them and the last we heard was ‘be patient’,” he said.
The UK, in contrast, has rescued just 1,400 British nationals from Wuhan and Peru on charter flights, including the passengers on two British Airways planes that landed at Gatwick airport on Tuesday.
An estimated 300,000 Britons are thought to be stranded around the world as countries closed borders and grounded commercial flights in an effort to tackle the coronavirus pandemic."

"Linford said he and his family were told to wait at the German ambassador’s residence in Delhi on Friday, where they were provided with food and water before being escorted under armed guard in 12 coaches to the airport. The 1,000 passengers – most of whom were German nationals, with about 250 other EU citizens – then boarded a Lufthansa flight to Frankfurt.
Linford said they were not charged for the flight as German officials said they would seek to recoup the air fare from the UK government. “Everybody was thankful of the Germans,” he said.
“It’s only us that aren’t repatriating people. We’re just incompetent. We were the only nationality left at our hostel – every other country had been flown home,” he added. "

Makes you proud to be a European eh Mouldy ?

There are Brexiteers on this thread who live in other countries. Some in other Continents. When I see a Brexiteer offer the same advice to one of them, I wont think they are a stupid, hypocritical ****.
Hey dave , there's no such thing as a Brexiteer we left in January , just like a remainer, I mean remaining in what exactly ....a state of delusion ?

Move on!

Somewhat surprisingly perhaps, but this is correct. We have already left, and no one will benefit from living in the past.

Watch out for December 31st, though. Without any ongoing EU deal the supply chains will collapse. At least until we can get airlifts of supplies from the US.

It'll be way worse than the Covid19 food shortages, and will also include fuel.

It is up to the individual to get through this - the Government strategy won't help you.

Fail to prepare, and you'd better be prepared to fail.

You're absolutely correct that we have left.

We just thought it would be a good idea to continue paying into the EU, continue abiding by their rules and regulations (under the European Court of Justice) and continue using all their trade agreements and deals for the whole of 2020, with absolutely no idea what will replace it in 7 months time (do know what you voted for yet ?)

But yes, we have definitely left

Careful, it'll end up needing a reboot and a software upgrade. It's like telling them there's no silicon heaven.

I've kept out of this thread for months as I thought it was all over now ... but this is a goodie.

Some of you may have read about the EU's plans for an office in Belfast, plans which have twice been rejected by the UK government (even though the EU presence in NI is part of the Irish Protocol).

But, here's the kicker, according to RTE news, not only did the Foreign Office agree to such a request 14 months ago; it put the agreement in writing AND suggested that the EU should maintain offices in Cardiff and Edinburgh too. (You can bet your last bawbie that Sturgeon is going to be all over that little snippet).

The real issue here is not the EU office itself but the fact the UK made an agreement, put it in writing and is refusing to honour it. Is that really the best course of action for a government that shortly has to make a good deal of trade agreements with a number of countries?

It's entirely consistent with their grand plans to basically ignore the deal signed with the EU though.

The EU is one thing: this is signalling to the world that we may reach an agreement with you but don't expect us to stick to it. It's scarcely the sign of a responsible administration

Well only 8 weeks until we find out Johnson’s been lying again and we start negotiating another new divorce bill or we finally find out whether we voted for a deal or No deal 4 years ago. I can hardly wait.

Tick tock :shootself
