This is why you and your other sewer rats voted.

to be fair , i think that someone from Plymouth calling someone from Barnsley...( i.e someone from a predominantly white town calling somebody from a town that has a reasonably large Pakistani / Muslim population) a thick as shit blah blah blah really is quite laughable.......you may not consider yourself racist when you ask the waiter at the Taj Mahal where he is from and how is kids are doing at school but for people who have seen their towns slowly but surely overrun by non assimilating immigrants it is a whole different life experience to yours......try and see it from their perspective.

The problem with this is that Barnsley has a lower than average number of immigrants. It does however have worse than average health, housing, education and mobility standards and these were the factors that drove this amiable town, and many others like it, into the arms of the Brexit salesmen. None of the factors concerned has any connection with our membership of the EU and leaving the EU will do nothing at all to deal with them.

There are towns where the issue of 'non assimilating immigrants' helped drive the Brexit vote, but with certain exceptions (Boston is the one I know) the immigrants in question were more likely to be non-Europeans.

Again, any connection with our membership of the EU falls somewhere between tenuous and non-existent.

Here you go, Brexit voters, taking back control.

Dicks.

https://politicshome.com/news/uk/fo...841/david-lawrence-post-brexit-trade-deals-eu

the irony of Brexit is that, although many voted for Parliament to take back sovereignty over UK affairs, MEPs in Brussels will have more of a say over the UK-EU Future Relationship than British MPs. And the irony of Johnson’s large majority is that it decreases the amount of influence Tory MPs have over the Brexit process, compared to if the victory had been narrow.

MPs who value Parliamentary sovereignty, and who understand the need for democratic accountability for post-Brexit trade, should support Lucas’s amendment. The amendment is not about frustrating Brexit – it would be impossible in this Parliament anyway – but is about safeguarding a process which ensures there is transparency and democracy built into our treaty-making system.

The UK lags far behind the EU and US when it comes to democratic oversight of trade policy, and Johnson’s WAB was an opportunity to change this. Instead, unless Lucas’s amendment gets unexpected support from backbench Conservatives, MPs will not get a say over what is undoubtedly our most important trading relationship, and probably the defining policy issue of our time..

The BREXIT message doesn't bother me. Flags are often used, whether rightly or wrongly, for political slogans.

The 'lest we forget' message being fused with that is sad though. We should keep the memories of those who sacrificed their lives from such posturing. It's crude, expedient, and insulting.

FFS. How's he going to understand that reply with all its nuance, syntax and vocabulary? You are having a laugh, shirley?
