The eu wont come offering another deal. But we will have another general election soon and we will elect a pro europe governemtn and will stsy in. Heard it here first

I live in Germany and have been humbled by the Germans response. It hasn't been good riddance or worries about the future of the EU or economy. They are more upset that they have lost us because we are a nation they admired for our culture, way of life and sense of humour .

Well none of us can really say 100% why each of us voted the way we did, but I'm sure that some wanted us to leave to stop the free movement - but 48% didn't want us to leave, so I'd confidently predict that more than 50% want the free movement of people to continue.
Highly dubious conclusion!
Free movement of people was far from the only issue and I suspect the vast majority of remainers simply felt that the benefits e.g. economic, outweighed the disadvantages of free movement.
On the other hand, practically every Brexiteer that I saw interviewed or talked to cited immigration as their primary reason for wanting out.
Personally, I am relatively unconcerned by immigration and think that the vast majority make a positive contribution to the UK but agree that completely uncontrolled immigration can put great strain on our infrastructure.
Given the similar pressures in many other EU countries I suspect that they'll come to the same conclusion themselves soon(ish).
Just a pity that the clowns in Brussels can't see this yet and we didn't have the patience to sit it out until they do.......

Also appears there is the start of back tracking on controlling immigration. Seems like the reality is we will still have to accept free immigration into UK From Europe if we want the same for us to travel and work in Europe. Yes we could impose tighter controls on non EU people coming to the UK but we could have done this anyway. Anyone actually have any firm numbers from the leave campaign on how much they plan to reduce immigration from EU countries? Can't say I have seen any and if there are any can they be believed?

An interesting thing from a sociological point of view is happening in Poland (and, from what I gather, in Germany as well): the support numbers for the EU were never as strong as they are right now. It seems that not many Poles/Germans want to be seen in one line with Farage, Putin or LePen, and when Poles and Germans agree on something it must be right.
It clears the air... the EU is certainly not perfect and most probably never will be, but most people don't want to live in a world where haters from "foreigners f*ck off" crowd rule. The reason I asked was Canada seems to be doing very well for itself outside the EU....as do so many of our Commonwealth partners. I cannot believe some of the bile from the Remain lot tonight. It's poisonous.

It's hardly comparable is it? Canada's equivalent of Europe is ONE country. There are an awful let of agreements between Canada and the USA which have been worked out over many decades. Canada also only has half the population of the UK and the economy is far smaller.

Look on the bright side our fans at the European Championships in France what be able to get so drunk as the price of beer has just gone up unless they have taken euros.
Even better, perhaps the eu hosting country can refuse to give any Englishman under the age of 65 a visa during a tournament.
