The year is 2192. The British Prime Minister visits Brussels to ask for an extension of the Brexit deadline. No one remembers where this tradition originated, but every year it attracts many tourists from all over the world.
If I ever met Bercow, in a dark alley, or even a light alley....it would be lights out.

Brilliant!
Mildly amusing but the credit should go to the person who thought of it ..

This is excellent.
Can I put it in a tweet and pretend I made it up?
Or did you already nick it from a viral twitter or facebook post thing?
That's fair, but he has been enjoying a good lead, and that's before a) he has earned massive props for doing the "undoable" by getting the WA reopened, getting rid of the backstop, and agreeing a deal with the EU with speed, grace and goodwill on both sides, b) He approached the Benn Bill in the right manner to obey the law and also retain his dignity, and c) his GE opponents have today shown themselves to be willing to extend this farce even more, which I think the electorate won't feel like thanking them for.
Sorry, I’d already nicked it, but, you’re welcome to sloppy seconds.
Brexiteers - we have another fun conundrum for you. Do you feel the June 2016 Brexit vote should be seen as legally binding?
A.) Yes.
The 2016 vote was binding and therefore as confirmed, declared null and void for illegality due as per the Electoral Commission's ruling. In which case no doubt you will be pushing for a new binding referendum that is kept within legal guidelines.
or
B.) No.
The 2016 vote wasn't binding and therefore there is no requirement to Leave the EU, merely to take the advice on board, given the vote was advisory. In which case no doubt you will be pushing for a confirmatory and binding referendum.
Eeew. Thanks but, good as it was, I'll pass!
I find it bizarre how remainers fail to understand that the referendum was advisory but MPs ( of different parties ) decided to accept that advise and vote through ( with a decent majority ) the triggering of Article 50. So Parliament approved of Brexit.
Yet once again The Speaker stops the government from doing the duty as per the wishes of the people.
Bored of explaining again and again, but briefly... having any future laws on our EU trading relationship determined by genuine consensus, not imposed by Qualified Majority Voting.
So they spend forever thrashing out and talking to death a second deal - and then they can't even vote on the bloody thing. What a shameful farce
