I see Sir Nicolas Soames is down to vote against no deal and therfore be kicked out of the Tory party.

Living in Mid-Sussex I hope he stands as an independent.

I hope Johnson squirms knowing he's going to have to de-select Winston Churchill's grandson.

Rees Mogg just gave a kicking to a yellowhammer doctor, dont know if they are one and the same

Gave a kicking? Mogg was a snidey, patronising ********. Which is all he's capable of being.

Of course I am. That's because you said something you obviously didn't mean. You said you stood shoulder to shoulder with your "socialist comrade" when in fact he clearly isn't a "comrade".

So it seems. And I want a helicopter. Shame you don't have a mandate for that then. The only mandate you have is to leave the EU. The fact that we haven't left yet is down to the stupid red lines that these governments have insisted upon.

Or you could just blame the incompetence of the UK negotiating team who have, you know, caused this whole mess by being ill-prepared, proposing absurd red-lines and then got stroppy when parliaments calls their shambles to account.

I could blame them but you asked for blame if Brexit doesnt happen, that will be down to the MPs who vote to revoke Article 50 if it happens. I dont have that list yet. If there is one you will know about it.

I, along with the majority of his other constituents, voted against leaving the EU.

That's fine. Let's force every MP to vote how a majority of their constituents voted in the referendum. I'd be very happy with that.

Glad he sticks to his principles. I do look forward to the next 6 months or so.

He voted for the deal so did represent his constituents. The Tory party has been taken over by Cummings and the ERG. They want No Deal and are not even trying to get a deal.

So what is your view of the many MPs nationwide NOT representing the majority of their constituents?

It isn't a red herring at all. That amounts to the same thing as a backstop being in place until both sides agree it is no longer needed. It is entirely necessary. It is quite obvious the EU was not going to stand by and allow the UK to damage the integrity of their single market. Regardless, Northern Ireland voted to stay in anyway.

agree it is needed. the red herring is the notion government must provide the solution now, when what is needed is a alteration to the agreement on how to determine if a solution is fair and agreeable.

"I can't believe Grizzler used the word 'remoaner', I thought he had more class than that; clearly rattled."

Yeah, that works.

Boris Johnson*secretly agreed to suspend parliament in mid-August – two weeks before denying the plan existed, explosive court documents heard in the Court of Session case have revealed.

*An email was sent to the PM and Dominic Cummings, his chief aide, which says “we should prorogue” from 9 September.

This tweet (retweeted by Soames) made me laugh:

it is indeed odd, funny, frustrating how individual groups or issues have been given undue weight. those who shout loudest get the attention.

or grossly distorting reality, such as Churchill's views, or shortages.
