That's one of the very obvious misrepresentations thrown around by the Remain camp. The whole purpose of a points based system is to be able to increase and decrease immigration as required. It's not fixed. You ask for more points when you want less immigration, and vice versa. Honestly it's not hard. If Remain keep getting this wrong it is deliberate.

It probably is deliberate - just one to add to the many, many other deliberate "errors" promulgated by both sides. If you're watching the debate, don't expect facts! And if there are any, they will probably be dismissed as being the voice of "experts".

No that's fair comment. But having had personal experience of the Australia and NZ points systems, it's very transparent how they work. Points for English Language ability, points for education attainments, points for professional qualifications, points for work experience etc etc. It's all public information. And it is regularly reviewed and the number of points required to get a visa amended. (Sorry if telling people what they already know).

Just stating some facts, which is what i have tried to do throughout the campaign

OK, back on the issues though I still don't understand the issue of Turkey. If their membership of the EU isn't going to happen then why is the UK helping to fund their accession ? Either rule them out and stop spending the money or admit that their joining is a possibility. This is the same Turkey by the way that violently broke up a Gay rights march last week. As long as this money is being spent it cannot be claimed that this is a scare story.

Anyone watching this tripe and making a decision based on it needs their head testing.

This is a decision for generations. Not for the next 5 years. So Turkey's candidacy for EU membership is very much in scope for discussion. IMHO.

I'm so glad I haven't put my name to any of this, I'm quite looking forward to seeing the country plummet (which it will either way) and then watching everyone argue again [emoji23] hahaha feel so fortunate to be in a minority of people who know for a FACT the working class/ poor will never see any more money in their pockets.

That's wonderful. For someone who does not care, you have an awful lot to say. If you are not going to vote either way or do not care, then maybe this is not the thread for you...just saying!

Shame, i used to enjoy Alfredzzzz and his insight. On Turkey, its called politics. Keeping states onside. Turkey is our ally in a strategic area. Doesnt mean they will join. All countries have to agree to their membership so its not just us, its Greece also.
