Imagine you go down a disco on Tuesday and chat up 7 birds, and after each you make it plain that in fact you don't fancy them or want to see them again. Then you go back to the disco on Thursday and chat up the three better looking ones again. Would you change your mind? How well would it go down? Would any of them agree to shag you? Do you think it might lead to a lasting relationship?

This isn't going to go well, is it?

Well it seems fairly simple and straightforward to me.

I know what I voted for.

If this method of government is incapable of delivering a few simple unicorns when told to, we need a new method of government.

I'll bet dictatorships don't have to put up with this level of incompetence.

I've had enough of people not giving me what I want. I know what I voted for and until it's delivered I'll never vote again. Bloody undemocratic loons

No - every MP got to vote yes or no to every option. Removing an option won't affect the outcome.

That's not really true, as some MPs would choose to vote no to an option that in reality they would accept (if it was the last choice), but they'd rather it was taken off the list and others changed to their preference instead.

So those MP's who want the Customs Union should therefore vote for the Withdrawal Agreement. Will be interesting to see the list of those that voted for this but voted against the Withdrawal Agreement.

last time i checked, and i may missing something, the current withdrawal bill does leave us in the Customs Union for transistion period. then we negotiate to stay in the CU after all.

whether thats possible, politically or practice, without single market and ECJ is another matter. but it is the position of the Labour party after all so when they win the upcoming general election they can implement their policy.

As far as I am concerned I voted to join in 1974. In 2016 I voted to remain so a Peoples referendum means a best of three vote for me! Failing that let's have a General Election. Jeremy will sort it out.

Didn’t tonight prove that the Commons is and has always been spilt into two unwavering groups of Remainers and Brexiteers, with the added complication of Tories wanting to screw up any Corbyn ideas, and 90% of Labour MP’s wanting to screw any Government proposals? So, it’s almost impossible for any PM or government to get Brexit through.

It is A customs union rather than THE customs union within the withdrawal agreement.

The point I am making is that in order to get any customs union in the future, or any other non no deal Brexit, the Withdrawal Agreement has to be passed. Therefore, those MP's that want a customs union must, logically, vote for the Withdrawal Agreement. So if they haven't done so before, they should theoretically now do so.
