That will never be reported in our MSM, nor will they mention any manufacturing jobs that are created in this country. All they are interested in doing is creating doom and gloom, creating panic to those who get easily sucked in by the headlines.

To be fair to some in the MSM they have reported the recent good news about wages rising (3.4%), inflation falling to a two year low. Combined with record low unemployment, record rates of employment and just out today ... 'UK retail sales bounce back in January' https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-47250753 Saying that, overall growth is a bit tepid...as it is in many other countries across Europe some of which are already in recession (Italy) or avoiding it by the smallest of margins (Germany). Obviously, those who have been predicting Brexit armageddon since 2016 and are currently hunkered down in their 'no deal' bunkers searching for Russians under their bunk beds are unaware of most of this...

From the linked article

"It appears that shoppers are shopping before Brexit hits, either to stockpile products they worry won't be available, or in fear of big price increases post-29 March."

Cracks widening in the Conservative Party by the hour. Which is nice. Sarah Wollaston now on the brink

If it becomes main government policy to deliver no-deal I shall leave. I will sit as an independent, because of the extraordinary damage that would inflict. We are rapidly reaching that point and we have heard that there are many government ministers also considering their position, because they would not be prepared to knowingly and deliberately inflict the kind of pain that would be involved.

I think your last point is wrong. We are an independent country and the fact that we can simply walk away from the EU next month proves it.

The kerfuffle of the past two years has not been been about whether we can leave the EU. It has been about our ability to have some cake while eating it. The Leave campaigners said we could have most of the benefits of membership and few of the obligations whilst simultaneously cracking bilateral trade agreements around the world. Unfortunately, they were lying ********.

You may think my last point is wrong but Article 267 of the Treaty on the functioning of the EU says different. Giving supremecy to a foreign court presided on by foreign judges on matters of UK law is a measure of subordination not independence.

The withdrawal bill still maintains this status quo sadly.......so the battle for independence will continue.

Your last point itself indicates the lack of independence we have in the EU concerning the limits that currently exist in terms of trade deals, so no need to ask for examples when you already have one.

This is the end of two party politics,it can’t come soon enough, the main reason the Nation voted to Leave the EU is because so many of us have felt politically homeless for 20 years.

On our way.

The main parties splitting into several smaller ones is all well and good but ultimately rather pointless without a Proportional Representation-based electoral system

On our way.

I totally get the politically homeless bit and would welcome reform of the electoral system (to PR for example).

Blaming it on the EU is stupid.

It's the Tories and Labour who have been disenfranchising the electorate for years (Labour are the worst offenders) and refuse to reform because they'll lose their grip on power.

but hey we lost (or some other inane retort)
