Right. So you sat down with your parents and decided where to be born!?
which part of "parents had it all planned" are you having difficulty with?

Nothing. Their parents may have planned it, but they themselves had no say. Nationality is not our own choice, it is random.
I know you are trying to be flippant. But you know I am right here: Birth nationality is not a choice (of the person born).
Ok, explain to me how it is not random. I may be being stupid, but I am unaware of an explanation as to how a concienceness that does not currently exist is able to decide of its own free will what part of the Earth it is to come into existance in.
I hope not. If Brexiteers want out of Europe, they should leave. Why take the British and the rest of us with them?
You don't think it fair to tell people that the Leave promises were a fantasy, and ask for their current democratic opinion?

Nope. The British are not snowflakes, we stay and fight for what is right. Whatever Britian has become is no longer British. It could not hack the fight to improve the EU and so ran off crying to its own little safe-space. If that is being British...you are welcome to it.
I don't think you can answer my question can you? Admit it, nationality IS random.
You do realise that we were all deprived of the right at birth to choose our own names too, don't you? Bloody scandal that - and I'm with you all the way that it's an outrage.I know you are trying to be flippant. But you know I am right here: Birth nationality is not a choice (of the person born).
Yes. I understand that. But the child had no choice did it? How did the child choose! It didn't. You did not choose your nationality and neither did I or anyone else.
Way to deflect the point.
Oh dear god. It is like talking to a brick wall. You do agree with me that nationality is random as you admit the child never chooses.
if i may help you out before it continues all morning, choice and random are not opposites. birth citizenship is not a choice, but its not random either and is completely predictable (edges cases of birth abroad, on planes/ships aside)Unpredictable, following no pattern...
Unpredictable, following no pattern...
Sure.
But will the Remain side then admit that everything they said in the Project Fear was a pack of lies?
And will they say that, if there were to be a different outcome, no more powers can be transferred ever to the EU without another vote? No EU army, no funds from the UK to bail-out EUROZONE countries, etc.
And if people get disillusioned with the EU in say another years time, we’d be allowed another vote in case we’ve changed our minds again?
I’m sure others could add to the list,
No more than it would be to that the remain promises were a fantasy, and ask for their current democratic opinion. We were going to be a major player in future EU policies and reform it from within, were we?
Yes. The issue has been that UK Governments tend to have seen it as a battleground to fight for special dispensations for Britain in the EU, whereas if we collaborated with others more we could shape it more. Europeans understand this better because they are much more used to working with other Political Parties in their own Governments than we are in our first past the post system. It would be far easier to get changes to the rules on Freedom of movement for instance, if we could persuade the other members that they needed changing, it is likely that to get that we might have to promise to vote with Spain, Greece and Italy to get changes to the Dublin rule on assylum seekers, and other issues with other nations that they find problematic, but this is how it can be done. It would be a hell of a lot easier than trying to negotiate Brexit.
