Nothing. Their parents may have planned it, but they themselves had no say. Nationality is not our own choice, it is random.

Just as well i wasnt randomly assigned Rhodesian, bit of a result British randomly came out the hat.......i wonder what the odds were.

I know you are trying to be flippant. But you know I am right here: Birth nationality is not a choice (of the person born).

I doubt anyone in history has ever said its the choice of the born baby("parents had it all planned"). Its certainly not random ( you should look that up definition).
My point stands, European nationality doesnt exist, its made up in your head. If you think it exists try and renounce your British citizenship and tell the authorities you are a European citizen instead........see how far you get trying to renounce being British.

Ok, explain to me how it is not random. I may be being stupid, but I am unaware of an explanation as to how a concienceness that does not currently exist is able to decide of its own free will what part of the Earth it is to come into existance in.

Lets just go with "stupid" and call it quits.

You don't think it fair to tell people that the Leave promises were a fantasy, and ask for their current democratic opinion?

No more than it would be to that the remain promises were a fantasy, and ask for their current democratic opinion. We were going to be a major player in future EU policies and reform it from within, were we?

Sorry, but I can't find the function on Google Translate than renders Bollox into English....................

Nope. The British are not snowflakes, we stay and fight for what is right. Whatever Britian has become is no longer British. It could not hack the fight to improve the EU and so ran off crying to its own little safe-space. If that is being British...you are welcome to it.

No, Google Translate still not delivering the goods. Must be all down to Brexit, eh?

I don't think you can answer my question can you? Admit it, nationality IS random.

If someone is born in Britain to British parents what nationalities apart from British are you thinking can be randomly assigned to the baby?

You do realise that we were all deprived of the right at birth to choose our own names too, don't you? Bloody scandal that - and I'm with you all the way that it's an outrage.

I just thank f*** that my parents didn't call me Plooks..........................

Yes. I understand that. But the child had no choice did it? How did the child choose! It didn't. You did not choose your nationality and neither did I or anyone else.

No one has ever said the child chooses,i was assigned British because i am British.........how is being British random if my parents were British and i was born in Britain just as they planned.

Bloody Worthing!
On 16 May 2016, a month before the vote, Nigel Farage told the Daily Mirror that a 52/48 remain victory would be “unfinished business by a long way”. He went on to tell the BBC that “there could be an unstoppable demand for a rerun of the EU referendum if remain wins by a narrow margin”. “Win or lose this battle,” he concluded, “we will win this war.”

Five years earlier, in October 2011, Jacob Rees-Mogg told the Commons that “we could have two referendums. As it happens it might make more sense to have the second referendum after the renegotiation is completed.”

Unpredictable, following no pattern...
if i may help you out before it continues all morning, choice and random are not opposites. birth citizenship is not a choice, but its not random either and is completely predictable (edges cases of birth abroad, on planes/ships aside)

Sure.
But will the Remain side then admit that everything they said in the Project Fear was a pack of lies?
And will they say that, if there were to be a different outcome, no more powers can be transferred ever to the EU without another vote? No EU army, no funds from the UK to bail-out EUROZONE countries, etc.
And if people get disillusioned with the EU in say another years time, we’d be allowed another vote in case we’ve changed our minds again?

I’m sure others could add to the list,

It is already UK law that a referendum would be required before any new treaty or change to existing treaty could be signed up to. We are not required to bail out Eurozone countries, loans made to Ireland were a choice and worked for both countries due to our better credit rating. Every five years we get to vote on the Government, if people want out of the EU they can vote UKIP.
I hate to break it to you, but "Project Fear" is not a load of bull, all of those nasties can still happen if we leave on bad terms, though I understand that what was said was attached to the result rather than the end of A50. This is like the boy who cried Wolf, you have to remember that there is a wolf in the story and the boy loses his sheep in the end.

So, despite endless pages of further whataboutism on here it's still SNAFU.

3 weeks ago it looked like leavers finally found out what they voted for.

But 3 weeks on, and no-one has any idea again, lucky there's no time pressures for this

Except it's now definitely those who voted Remain's fault :lolol:

(PS, we are already committed to paying the 'divorce' bill, regardless of what happens. You'd think a journalist would be better read).

Yes. The issue has been that UK Governments tend to have seen it as a battleground to fight for special dispensations for Britain in the EU, whereas if we collaborated with others more we could shape it more. Europeans understand this better because they are much more used to working with other Political Parties in their own Governments than we are in our first past the post system. It would be far easier to get changes to the rules on Freedom of movement for instance, if we could persuade the other members that they needed changing, it is likely that to get that we might have to promise to vote with Spain, Greece and Italy to get changes to the Dublin rule on assylum seekers, and other issues with other nations that they find problematic, but this is how it can be done. It would be a hell of a lot easier than trying to negotiate Brexit.

its not freedom of movement rules need to change, we need to change our law on residency to make it compatible with EU rules on freedom of movement.
