If I had my head on the chopping block and the Executioner was standing over me for ages - axe in hand - chatting to the judge, the crowd, his mates etc then even I would tell him to get a move on.

It doesn't mean I want to die.

Doesn't stop it being the truth,no matter how much you want to pretend it isn't.

David Warner complaining about being sledged?

Well, you either stick your head in the sand, put posters on ignore,or react. If somebody punches me,they will end up in hospital, but internet abuse deserves an equal reaction, and sometimes the sick ones get banned,or grow up.

"...there is no evidence that there was collusion" Isn't that the point?

No.The point is there were powerful people trying to influence the result on both sides, and stigmatising the Leave side,no matter how attractive to some,is not a balanced attitude. No evidence of collusion applies to both sides, including the so-called evidence about CA.Laughably, the person concerned only worked for CA as a contractor in 2014,yet a lot of people think he's the new messiah.

I wasn't aware anyone had been banned ? Regardless, lets throw in those that keep playing the man rather the ball - porn bookmarks and drinking with footballers spring to mind. Those that keep doing this know who they are.

I have to ask why you choose those two examples, when the individuals on the receiving end seem to spend half of their time on NSC insulting people, on this thread and others.

Bloody Worthing!
T May today:

"I think there are real opportunities for the United Kingdom. I think it’s a bright future out there. And yes, I think Brexit is going to deliver a country that will be different, but I think there are real opportunities for us as an independent nation for the future."

In my never-ending search for the middle ground I am joined by the PM. Surely we can agree that "the country will be different"?

I've been listening to The Today programme this morning. It's coming from Teesside and, not surprisingly given the date, Brexit is a main theme. At one point it turned into a kind of focus group featuring a bunch of workers in a factory. Now before any anti-BBC agendas kick-in I don't think that they were set-up in any way. And anyway my impressions will be music to the ears of Leavers.

- they sounded like decent ordinary folk; they could well be representative of a big slice of the Brexit vote in the north

- they deserve to be listened to

- they have no enthusiasm whatever for a 2nd referendum

- the overwhelming view is that 'we should just get on with it'; that Brexit might not work out but it was worth it

- one respondent (even) said that if he lost his job as a direct result of Brexit he would still think it was worth it (there's a good chance of this happening)

These are my impressions. It made for depressing listening for me. The 'just get on with it' phrase has replaced 'take back control' as a very powerful 'common sense' framing device. There's a passive stoicism tinged I think with resentment that anyone should want to stir things up or make life more complicated.

This made for hard listening for the likes of me. But then I thought about us lot on this thread. We are highly untypical; we are the odd ones. How many people contribute to NSC threads? Of those how many come on this thread? I don't know but my guess is a very low proportion. And of those who visit this thread, how many contribute? My guess would be that about 90% of the stuff on here comes from about the same 10 people; we probably have some sort of mental disorder.

It's a bit like being stuck in a lift with 10 people - 5 that you like and 5 you don't. And here we all are having the same arguments over and over again (or variations) while the rest of the world (and NSC) just........gets on with it. We might just have a lot more in common with each other than we have with the rest of the population.

Bloody hell: that is scary and rather depressing. The one thing we can't get on with is each other. But at least we care.

Don't think that just because some of us withdrew from this thread some time ago that it means that we are just getting on with it, or have ceased to care.

I, and many others that I know, will continue to protest against Brexit, and campaign to have a second referendum, stay in the EU etc.

But long ago I realised that commenting on this thread, and arguing with those with whom I have no need, or desire, to interact, is an utter waste of time.

The divisions in our society are massive. We will never be united.

I’m aware of at least on person who has been banned. But, if someone gets caught out for lying, and being economical with the truth on other occasions, I think they should be called out. And he gets as good as he gives and in my opinion deserves it (comments about gassing Jews etc etc are not very classy) What was classy is that everyone on here ignored him for that particular outburst.

If that is how you feel about Brexit, then that is your view and you are entitled to it. That is what a forum is all about -the exchange of views. However, then to imply, as you clearly do, that argument is futile because of others, reflects badly on you - afterall, if you have no desire to interact with others, why are you on here at all? And others may feel that reading what you post is equally a waste of time.
