They were a mountain warfare unit formed specifically to fight Tito's partisans in the former Yugoslavia, which given the treatment afforded to Albanian moslems by the Slavs, seemed like a good idea to the Germans. As I remember, they had a training camp at Le Puy in France, where they and Bosnians from Handschar Division, mutinied, slit their officers throats, and then turned on the locals.End of 1943,beginning of '44.The Grand Muffti of Jerusalem was their religious authority.

So, you say the first Waffen SS massacre was in 1943?? Interesting

Whilst it would be a good start, wouldn't it be better to lobby our MEP's and campaign for this to be an EU wide ban?

I'm sure many people already have. Good luck trying to get 27 other countries with varying views on animal welfare to agree to a ban. Fortunately, the Uk will regain the power to act in the near future.

I respectfully disagree that the report takes account of likely future EU trade deals.

I think I might be misunderstanding you still, but not receiving the 0.2 to 0.6 per cent boost to global trade that leaving the EU might bring, leaves us worse off because we miss out on the greater boost to GDP available a member of the EU.
Are you suggesting that a UK/USA trade deal would be 0.2% more valuable to us, than trade with the US would be by being a member of the EU with a US/EU trade deal? If so then the report is making its assessment based purely on what sort of deal we would be able to do alone, versus what sort of deal the EU would be able to do. I do not believe this to be the case.

My interpreation is that the paper predicts that any benefit through Brexit UK on global trade is quickly dwarfed by the overall forecast of lesser gdp by the three Brexit scenarios with its loss of trade with the EU, my main point was that remainers since after the referendum have been saying that it is nearly impossible for the UK to take advantage of global trade outside of the EU, this paper suggests that actually this is most likely to happen and above what might happen should we have remained.

Again I cannot see how any forecasting model when trying to compare our future non EU trade deals outside of the EU would not factor in likely continued trade should we have stayed in, the sole reason of the paper is to compare in and out, to not factor in both sets of projected trade activity would deem the whole paper worthless, it concluded that global trade added to our economy above what might be delivered staying in, however this is easily trumped by its projections of loss of trade with the EU at the same time.

Certainly the first one I am aware of in Western Europe.Plenty of undocumented stories from the 1941 invasion of the USSR,but they were commonplace on both sides.

Please leave chief remainer Clamp out of this, he is embarrassing himself enough on other threads as it is

Talking of embarrassment, let's remind ourselves of the time you accidentally posted your porn folders on here during one of your hyperactive frenzies trying to prove someone wrong. And failing on an absolutely epic scale. Always a treat.

Lovely stuff.

I'm sorry from the first to last letter, none of that makes any sense.
Do explain.

Lighten up, conversations on here are not reserved between parties.
You wanted a home grown 5 door car recommendation , buy a Toyota Auris Hybrid. It’s a great vehicle. Got Made in Britain stamped all over it,

Wouldn’t bother paying too much attention to that,
For what its worth I have had dozens upon dozens upon dozens of yanks ask me about the whole brexit thing, every single one bar one thought we were doing an amazing thing and it was brilliant, I admit there might be some bias though as a good number of them are from a military background and very understanding of patriotism

We finally agree on something.
It peeves me as well, im fed up with people claiming to be patriots but wishing the country goes to the swamp so they can say “told you”, or considers trade deals outside the EU a joke and wetting themselves with joy at every single bit of negative forecast whilst deliberately sowing the seed of division hoping it results in an outcome that ignores the democratic referendum result.

1. If you Google away enough you'll find a word or two of praise for any car but the near-universal view is that this Toyota is a decidedly average lump, one of the also-rans in a busy market. If ordinary and average is what you want, good for you. All things being equal I would always buy British, but things rarely are. The only automotive prejudice I have at the moment is not to buy PSA products, having once been stitched up by Citroen. My next car will probably be German, but not because it's German.

2. Goodness, 50-odd "Yanks" have asked you about Brexit and about 49 have told you it's brilliant. Well yes, all right. (Interesting that once again a Brexiteer attempts to associate leaving the EU with patriotism and therefore, I suppose, remaining in the EU with the opposite. It fits with the recent effort by a fellow-believer to link a remainer with a traitor. Lovely people.)

3. Remainers don't play the look-at-me patriotism card as often as those elsewhere in England's political spectrum I grant you, but please don't be misled.

Le Paradis massacre 1941?

Waffen SS men I spoke to in the bier-stube I frequented in Hameln always maintained Totenkopf was manned by concentration camp guards, and shouldn't be regarded as soldiers.Couldn't see the difference myself, but they didn't wear SS rune patches.
