Makes complete sense according to both the UK and the EU side because Euratom is inextricably linked to EU laws, treaties and ECJ jurisdiction.

Doesn't appear to be anyone in the nuclear science industry who thinks so. Even Dominic Cummings, head of Vote Leave, tweeted this about it:

The Commons science and technology committee said after the Brexit vote that The Department for Existing The EU should take on a chief scientific adviser. They didn't. Never mind. As David Davis would say, it'll probably all be okay.

Going it alone has almost no advantages. Euratom includes the funding for Culham, lab, importation of radioactive medical sources which the UK does not produce, joint research projects with European partners on all kinds of nuclear matters. Pure self harm for the UK

6 hours ago former UKIP leader Diane James posted a live 'Leave or Remain' poll on her Twitter account. With almost 5,000 votes cast it presently stands at 79% Remain / 19% Leave / 2% Don't Know.

Marvellous scenes!

More of the case they don't like UKIP, so all the Remoaners fix the poll.

So the Tories want out of Euratom, perhaps May just wants it all to end as quickly as possible and after the tears on election night has already had enough.

Makes no sense at all, huge cost again for Britain, will just adds to the brain drain...

It's all about her " Red Lines" on the European Court of Justice being the deciding body on any legal issues regarding Euratom. Nose/Face of course but allowing ECJ authority here will lead to ECJ authority in other matters too. She is trying to be her " Bloody Awkward " woman. Mostly because she has no credible solution.

Where are all her UKIP Twitter followers flocking to vote LEAVE?

What made her put the poll up in the first place?

Because a lot of leavers have moved on that's why, they are done with silly twitter polls and just want the government to get things moving. Where did you pick the link up for the poll originally?

More insults. It's why I don't really post on this thread anymore.

If you feel hurt Flower think how the 16 million Remainers like me feel watching this country go to the dogs.

F**king former UKIP leader and her "own goal" poll - what WAS she thinking?!?

The public mood is changing, inflation is biting and it won't be long before the jobs start going. In construction can already see a slow down, this always comes first

Maybe these things are happening in whatever little world you inhabit (twatterville?),but the rest of the country has record employment, record job vacancies, and construction is only slowing because there aren't enough skilled workers.

The European Union (Withdrawal) Bill in all its glory:

https://publications.parliament.uk/pa/bills/cbill/2017-2019/0005/18005.pdf

Enjoy

I think this is my favourite paragraph so far:

9 After section 23 (application to other instruments) insert—
“23ZARetained direct EU legislation
(1) The provisions of this Act (except sections 1 to 4, 13 and 19(2)) apply,
so far as applicable and unless the contrary intention appears, to any
retained direct EU legislation so far as it—
(a) is amended by an Act, subordinate legislation or devolution
legislation, and
(b) is not subordinate legislation,
as they apply to an Act passed at the corresponding time.

Ah,but another poster on here,a prominent Remainer, has assured us that Minford is a complete idiot, and nearly ga-ga.So is he a genius,or mad? Please make your minds up,as it is obviously very confusing.:lolol:

Well, given that Prof Minford is a prominent Leave-advocating economist, I suppose he could well be ga-ga. For the same reason you will presumably regard him as a genius and regard his views as prescient. Near-death of British manufacturing it is then.

The hard facts are the UK is now the slowest growing economy in the EU and the G7. Though its good to see you are admitting to the slowing construction sector, who can you blame, foreigners?

You can celebrate when it is passed in unamended state

That doesnt seem either likely or necessary. There is a long way to go before celebrations are in order. This is just another small, but important, step along the way.

Small.... just shows how much the average Brexiteer under estimates what is ahead of us
