Your great great grandchildren could be the next germanic familiy to be the UKs royal family  the "Windsors" managed it and we weren't even in the EU

The EU will have told us we can't have a royal family by the time that happens..

Albania will be in the EU by then and the EU will still be negotiating at trade deal with the US.

Perhaps the EU and the USA will be an economic union in order to compete with China. The UK will be surving on the fishing industry but at least we will be free to make our own decisions

I'm hopeful my great great grandchildren will be able to sign the very first trade agreement the Brexiters have finalised. It will probably be with Peru or Albania though.

So we'll be self-sufficient for 100 years?

One of the more outlandish scare stories, I'll give you that.

For me, your last sentence is the essence of the debate on in or out, do we govern ourselves or hand it over to Brussels. would we really lose the financial industry in this country, apart from the French I didn't see many EU countries represented in the Gulf War, who went to Libya with us, where did the Greek bailout money go ( to German Banks, who greedily lent money to Greece and had to be bailed by the EU, sorry Herr merkel). Why is London seen as a safe haven for Russians, Arabs, Indians and Chinese, why not Paris, Berlin, Milan or Brussels, because this country is seen by so many as a safe bet. But of course the largest question for the remainers is, why do they still advocate sterling, which puts us on the periphery, out of negotiations, vulnerable to exchange rates and of course places us as the odd man out at Brussels.

This I'm alright Jack attitude seems to be a common trait amongst Remain supporters.

Brexit being a disaster for the NHS is an absurd statement to make as you have no idea what the future arrangements would be or have any idea on the costs of supplying healthcare to a rapidly growing population driven by immigration. By the way immigrants also age so by your logic we need perpetual mass immigration to keep the NHS running.

Turkish membership of the EU would mean all 80 million of their citizens would have the right to work and live here. 12 million ish would apparently quite like to.

Fortunately the old ploy of crying racism to suppress legitimate public concern about immigration doesn't wash anymore.

I'm trying to remain objective! And I'm not an "I'm alright Jack" type. Actually, what REALLY worries me is the future for my children. Both are in their early twenties - both have a huge amount to lose if we exit the EU. That is my opinion. I'm basing it on all the information I have to hand. The vast majority has been gleaned from the FT. Yes - I'm a nerdy accountant, but what that means is that I read an awful lot, and mostly make sure I deal in facts.

And you are right to say that I have no idea what the future arrangements will be - that is the WHOLE BLOODY POINT. The Brexit camp have had YEARS to prepare for this, and I have still to read or hear any coherent plan from the Leave campaign regarding what the hell will happen after a Leave vote. Are we going to negotiate a deal like Norway? Or Switzerland? Or Albania (per Michael Gove)? What will it look like? I am not a great admirer of the EU, but it is the safe option to vote REMAIN. I'm generally risk averse, especially when it comes to my future, my kids' future, and my financial well-being. It wouldn't take much for the Leave camp to set out a clear strategy for what will happen post Brexit, and reassure me that my future will be in safe hands. However, the fact that over 50% of the population still currently wants to stay IN a widely despised organisation is testimony to the utter balls up the Leave Campaign is making.

We don't even know if Calde will be able to stay on, post Brexit!!!

:lolol: its very odd. But whoever can get rid of the "royal" family has my support

It got me thinking.........Don't know about you but i have not traced my family tree back (yet) but say during the times of Oliver Cromwell........imagine that your line were staunch Loyalist and i was anti the King..........how would they vote right now?

You and i could be both going against our family trees traditional lines..........food for thought, not that it matters....but makes me wonder

Convenient twisting from both sides. This result - if Brexit - will not result in WW3, but will result in serious harm to UK Plc. Wake up to that.

Sent from my iPhone in a non-Calde world :-(

Yes you're right.Big business will no longer have cheap labour which is the only reason they are whining.Wake up.

Big business is whining because a Leave vote will result in 5 to 10 (or more) years of uncertainty whilst we renegotiate all our trade deals. Plus, given that the motivating factor for most Brexiteers is immigration, the likelihood is that any new arrangements will result in significant tariffs for trade with our EU partners. In other words, Big business is worried about the increased costs of doing business. That would seem to be a legitimate concern.

Sterling drops, prices for imports go up, asset values drop, less inward investment, less jobs, less global influence, families £4300 worse off. Not a great story for the quitters

I get bored with posting this but here we go again.Sterling was around 1.35 against the dollar in 2008.Before the referendum was called it was very low again. If we vote Remain it will have periods when it is low.Facts.

Quite clearly that's a lot of politics and very little progress. They're opening one chapter, how long will that take to close? 5 years? Then we can open the next one. One down, 33 to go...

Unlike you to play fast and loose with the facts ...

One chapter is already completed, 15 are already open, 29 have made progress and 4 are well advanced, Turkey is the most prepared of any of the accession countries.

As remainers often tell me our leadership role in Europe amplifying our voice is one of the reasons for staying in the EU so when our PM is the NO 1 Cheerleader for Turkish membership I'm sure others will listen. Speeding up this process even more. You shouldn't believe everything Dave tells you during the referendum campaign.

I have my tree back to mid 17th century which was towards the end of Cromwells time. First birth place was Lancashire. Travelled lots after that
