I read in the press yesterday that the UK doesn't ask EU migrants to register as a UK resident. Is this actually true? Seems a bit odd to me.

Theresa May's Brexit plans were thrown into chaos today after Britain's ambassador to the EU unexpectedly quit
Not my words, but those of The Daily Mail - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ust-weeks-Theresa-set-start-Brexit-talks.html
Enjoy.

And just for balance, from the same article:Theresa May's Brexit plans were thrown into chaos today after Britain's ambassador to the EU unexpectedly quit

And just for balance, from the same article:
"Brexit supporters welcomed his premature departure, which was due for November, and called for the Prime Minister to replace the Europhile with a more 'optimistic' diplomat."
Spot on!
If he was due to leave in November anyway, it might be best to have a new man in from start to finish of the process. I see Farage is touted as a replacement in the comments, a sure way to get a shite deal with the EU.
No. It would hardly be up to me anyway!Have you got anyone in mind for the job then?
Why are you so scared of the EU, if it is ever powerful and punitive better off out of it, why wouldnt you expect it to accept our democratic vote and acknowledge the net billions we have contributed, the £billions it has and continues to sell to us year on year and our input in the regions security it seems you are willing to capitulate at every move, man up for gods sake .....
What are you talking about? How is rubbishing Farages credentials for this job, capitulating or showing fear of the EU?
The job requires some diplomacy I believe, do you disagree?
Diplomacy is a facade its the easy bit, the reality is more about nuts and bolts negotiation, what can we do for each other and ours and the EU's and national member states individual interests and how a deal might be agreed.
And you think Farage is the man for that?

YEP, he's told the EU a FEW HOME TRUTHS, respect for that aloneAnd you think Farage is the man for that?

Why not, at least he would have the guts to speak up and support the UK, we all saw the non deals that Cameron came back with last time out, one of the reasons many voted out.
Well I suspect that he will not be the man for it, but I cannot be sure how he is seen within Brussels, if as would be normal he would be seen as quite an influential and successful politician, probably more so than those already there.
I have no doubt that you and others really still want someone that might represent your views ahead of those Brexiteers that won the referendum , so I am not sure that you will ever be happy.
